A little nod to Halloween—and a color we love in interiors year-round. Black has a way of adding contrast, depth and a bit of sophistication without taking over the room.

Try it in small doses: a black-framed mirror, artwork, windowpanes, lighting, a throw pillow or a few accessories. It’s an easy way to break up a neutral palette and give the eye somewhere to land.

Not every room has an obvious purpose, and that’s exactly where staging can help.

A bright bonus room or sunroom could leave buyers wondering, What would we do in here? Add comfortable seating, a table and a chessboard, and suddenly it becomes a spot to play a game, have coffee, read or just hang out.

Within about five seconds, a buyer should be able to walk into a space and understand how it could be used.

Fall color doesn’t have to mean bright orange pumpkins everywhere. 🍂 This season, we’re loving the shift toward deeper, moodier shades inspired by nature.

Think forest green, rich brown, deep burgundy, charcoal and warm earthy tones. They still give you that fall feeling, but in a way that feels a little more sophisticated—and they won’t feel out of place once October is over.

Pair those deeper colors with warm woods, aged brass, natural textures and soft lighting for a look that can carry you right through winter.

A little darker, a little richer and perfect for the season.

Time to bring out the pumpkins and add a little Halloween personality around the house. 👻

Try a few creepy candles, dark florals, bare branches, black accents or a playful surprise tucked into your everyday décor. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or perfectly styled to be fun. A little spooky, a little unexpected and only here for a few weeks. Might as well enjoy it. 🖤

Have some fun with your space! Move things around, play with color and don’t worry about everything matching perfectly.

🎨 Try a color you wouldn’t normally use
🧶 Mix in different textures
🔥 Light the fireplace or a few candles and create some ambience
🌿 Bring in branches or greenery
🖼️ Add those special pieces you’ve collected and love
🪑 Try furniture or accessories in a different spot—you never know what might work

Sometimes you just have to play around with a room until it feels right. And that’s half the fun.

A freshly painted brick fireplace can give a room an entirely new look, but there’s a little more to consider than choosing the perfect paint color.

Brick naturally needs to breathe, which means proper cleaning, prep and the right masonry paint are important. Get it wrong and you could end up with peeling paint, trapped moisture or other problems down the road. And once brick is painted, returning it to its original finish isn’t always easy.

Does that mean you should never paint brick? Not at all. In the right room, it can be a great update.
Just make this one a think twice, paint once kind of project. 😉🔥
