Two more Farmhouse pieces for my daughter. The dresser began pink with animal print k***s and feet. The sideboard was black. After prepping them the tops were stained with walnut stain and the body of both pieces were painted with Fusion Paint in Picket Fence. And new hardware is like new accessories.
They still need wallpaper in the drawers.

This was worth the long process as we took it apart to sand it, strip it, stain it and finish it with many coats of topcoat so it is buttery soft. I am pleased with how she turned out. I love the variety of oak grain especially quartersawn oak. With the hours in this project, I think it is staying here. I love the size as it will fit in many places and can do various jobs besides its original purpose. Some prefer leaving it as it was to show how it aged…others prefer taking it back and revealing the original oak grain…which do you prefer?

This piece is a work in process. It is a Side-by-Side Secretary. I love the small stature as it can fit in many places. It had a very old finish on it. It showed its age. I wanted to bring back the original finish…to uncover the oak.
It is quite a difference!

UPDATE: she sold. Thanks to all who shared my post.

This is the latest finished project. This desk came from an Estate Sale. It needed to be re-glued and reinforced. I love the Bayberry Fusion paint color. I think the pearlescent pulls are like jewelry. The vintage wallpaper in the drawers are a fun add. I love a solid desk for storage and organization…a place to craft or do a puzzle or write a thank you note. If you are looking for a great pop of color in a room in your home, then PM me for details. I was going for Modern Farmhouse. Did I get there? I am so grateful for the sanding JSM did! The dresser is headed to a friend’s newly purchased farmhouse.
How would you use this piece? In a bedroom as a dresser, as a sideboard/serving piece in the dining room, to store linens in the laundry room with a folding station on top, or…? I cannot wait to see which room she goes in and how she uses it.

We have a great size piece ready to go especially if you need a linen cupboard or a pantry or craft supply storage or…limitless uses…very versatile. It measures 50” wide x 51” tall x 19.5” deep. It has three large built in shelves and a narrow built in one. It maximizes space. We used it to store holiday decorations and decor at the top of our back stairwell. The shelves are 18” deep which makes them great for platters, too. We live in a home built before 1900 with limited closets and love these cupboards for storage. Local delivery is a possibility. Don’t let that hold you back from a great piece. Send me a message if you need any more details or want to see it in person or would like to know the price.

Four antique/vintage pieces that we have delivered to our booths at Fabulous Finds. The small bench would be great in an entryway to sit down and put on shoes or boots. It would also be great as a bench to coordinate with a vanity or desk or just an extra seat in a room. The bench is marked on the bottom Vermont Hardrock Maple. It is a solid piece. The small round accent table is cherry. I love the legs. It has one drawer. The antique commode has three drawers that open and close easily. It is ash and cherry. I love the hardware. The lighter dresser has three drawers. It is oak with curly maple accents on the drawer fronts. If you are interested in any prices, please let me know and I will send you a message.

Beadboard Cupboard (Post 2)
Do you ever look at an old house or a vintage vehicle or an antique and wish they could talk and tell you their story…who lived and loved in them…who owned it or learned to drive in it…who made it or polished it or used it? There are 65 double grooves on the four sides of this farm cupboard. They were filled with four layers of different colored paint. Her jewelry (latch and hinges) are copper. I stained her golden oak and put on several layers of satin topcoat so she is buttery smooth. The inside is painted black. She now has four shelves for deep storage or displaying a collection. A linen closet, a pantry, an armoire for favorite sweaters, storage for quilts…the possibilities are endless. I so wish I had a spot for her. Believe me I have thought about it as we conversed while I worked on her. But she is too pretty to go in our shed or my classroom. She is ready to show off her style and be loved by someone else.

Beadboard Cupboard (Post 1)
I bought a cupboard last week. In the photos you can see the back and what the wood is beneath the paint.
There are at least four colors of paint coming off. The body of the cupboard was done in a weekend. The hardware came out nicely after boiling the paint off. Now I am working on the grooves that are in the beadboard. I am doing two grooves at a time and leaving the stripper on (under plastic to keep it wet) for 12+ hours. I will post again it when it is finished.

Anyone need a desk for crafting or homework? It would be an excellent piece for a youngster to grow into. It is a solid desk. It is hard rock Maple. It had layers of paint on it and under that was a layer of sticky contact paper that looked like wood grain. The layers were stripped off and the piece was taken back to raw wood. I then painted it with Fusion Mineral paint in Cast Iron. It has been protected with 5 layers of Varathane polyurethane in a Satin finish. It has a buttery soft finish. The top drawer runs the width of the piece and is divided into three sections. All five drawers are solid and move in and out smoothly. We would be willing to deliver locally if needed. It can be seen in person in Waddington.

The first picture is the before photo. The next four are after we refinished it. It is so satisfying bringing pieces back to life. This one came out of shed. It sold immediately to a friend. I hope it brings years of joy.
