On August 7th At 3:49 AM, our entire world changed forever.

You came much earlier than Mommy and Daddy ever imagined. We thought we had more time—more weeks with you safely underneath Mommy’s heart, more kicks, more nights with Daddy’s hand on my belly, and more time watching Bailey count down the days until she could finally meet the baby brother she waited so many years for.

But suddenly… you were here.

So tiny. So precious. So incredibly loved. And already fighting.

In so many ways, it felt like déjà vu. Years ago, Mommy and Daddy walked a similar journey with Bailey. The tiny baby we once prayed over is now standing beside us, praying for her baby brother. And looking at her reminds us there is so much life waiting for you after the fear. 🤍

Shortly after you arrived, you needed to leave us to receive the care your tiny body needed.

I had just met you, and already I had to miss you.

Being separated from you has broken Mommy’s heart in ways I didn’t know were possible. Every minute feels too long. My arms ache to hold you. Daddy wishes he could take every hard moment away from his son, and Bailey is waiting for the little brother she already loves so deeply.

But through it all, you fight.

Oh Isaiah, how you fight.

Every breath, every movement, every gram gained, every little milestone—we will celebrate them all.

You are tiny, but you are mighty.

If Isaiah can fight, Mommy can fight too. Daddy will fight. Bailey will fight. Your entire ʻohana will fight beside you.

And somehow, even the day you arrived carries our family’s story. You came weeks earlier than expected, yet out of every possible day, you were born on your great-grandpa’s birthday. 🤍 A day that once celebrated his life now celebrates yours too.

🤍 Isaiah — “The Lord is salvation.” A name chosen by your big sister, Bailey.

🌺 Kamakaokalani — “the eyes of the heavens” or “the heavenly face.” Our little piece of heaven here on earth.

🤍 Rico — chosen in loving memory of Daddy and Uncle Rio’s brother, forever carrying a piece of someone deeply loved.

🤍 To Our Kapua Co. ʻOhana 🤍 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

This is one of the hardest messages I’ve ever had to write.

If you’ve followed Kapua Co. from the beginning, you know this business has always been so much more than clothing. It was built from love, inspired by my family, and created with the hope of sharing a little piece of Hawaiʻi with each of you. Every collection tells a story, and every market has allowed me to meet so many incredible people who have become part of our journey.

Unfortunately, due to unexpected pregnancy-related medical complications, I need to step away and focus on my health and our baby boy. After many difficult conversations and following the guidance of my medical team, we’ve made the decision to cancel all remaining markets, pop-ups, and business activities for the rest of this month. We will reopen website ending of the month.

This decision wasn’t easy. As a small business owner, showing up has always been important to me. But right now, the most important thing I can do is take care of myself and our growing family.

To everyone who has supported Kapua Co.—whether you’ve made a purchase, shared our posts, stopped by our booth, or simply cheered us on—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love, encouragement, and prayers have carried us through so many milestones, and I know they’ll carry us through this one too.

Please keep our family, and especially our sweet baby boy, in your prayers as we navigate this unexpected season. We are trusting that this is only a pause, not the end, and we look forward to returning when the time is right.

Reflection post just cuz 🫶🏽
I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes because I don’t think I’ve ever truly stopped to realize how far this journey has brought me.

There was a time when this was just a dream. A dream I carried quietly, hoping one day it would become something bigger than myself. There were moments filled with doubt, fear, financial struggles, disappointments, and wondering if I was good enough to keep going.

But I did.

Every early morning, every late night, every sacrifice, every tear, every prayer… it led me here.

This weekend, I looked around and saw people supporting something that once only existed in my heart. I watched families shop together, strangers become friends, and people connect with the story behind Kapua Co. It was overwhelming in the most beautiful way.

This business has become so much more than clothing. It has become a piece of my family, my heart, my faith, and my purpose.

As I prepare to welcome our baby boy into the world, I’m reminded that this season isn’t slowing my dreams down—it’s giving me even more reason to chase them. I want my children to grow up knowing that dreams are worth fighting for, even when the road is hard.

To everyone who has supported me from day one, and to those who just found us—thank you. You may never fully understand how much your support has carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life.

I still have so many dreams for Kapua Co. I know there will be more challenges ahead, but I also know the girl who almost gave up isn’t the same woman writing this today.

She kept going.

And I will keep going—for my family, for this dream, and for every little girl who needs to see that it’s okay to start small, to be afraid, and to believe anyway.

A little reintroduction… from my heart. 🌺🤍

Aloha, friends.

With so many new faces here, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Justine, and I’m the owner and creator behind Kapua Co.

If there’s one thing I hope you know about this business, it’s that it was built with love. Every collection, every design, every late night, every market, and every package that leaves our hands carries a piece of my heart.

I’m a wife, a mama to my beautiful daughter Bailey, and we’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby boy. Becoming a mother has changed my life in the most beautiful way, and my children are the reason I continue to dream bigger—even on the hardest days.

Kapua Co. is truly a family business. My husband has been my biggest supporter, always willing to step in wherever he’s needed, and I’m so grateful to have two incredible young women, Jaynani and Ua, walking alongside me on this journey. They’re more than a team—they’ve become family. Together, we laugh, learn, grow, and work countless hours to bring each collection to life with care and aloha.

This journey hasn’t always been easy. Like many small business owners, there have been moments of uncertainty, sacrifices, long nights, and challenges that made me question everything. But through every season, I’ve been reminded why I started: to create something meaningful, to honor the people I love, and to leave a legacy my children can be proud of.

When you choose Kapua Co., you’re not just purchasing clothing. You’re supporting a dream, a family, and a small business that pours its heart into every single detail. Your support allows us to keep creating, keep dreaming, and continue doing what we love.
