Winbeam Light Labs, LLC High Definition Fluorescent Lighting from Winbeam Light Labs, LLC In basic terms, the eye has two sets of cells.

The cones are responsible for seeing color and our "day vision". Cones are most sensitive to a portion of the spectrum known as "photopic light". The rods are more sensitive to night vision and "see" in black and white, and are commonly referred to as our night vision. They respond to a different frequency referred to as "scotopic light". It has been discovered that rods have an additional functio

n - when stimulated with scotopic light, they trigger a response in the pupil which improves visual acuity. THE SKYLIGHTER (R) begins with a balanced blend across the spectrum. On top of that, a very specific spike of energy is emitted right on the scotopic trigger point. When it hits the rods, the pupils contract, and like a camera lens, improves your depth of field and general visual acuity. Then, we added a deep red phosphor rarely used by the big manufacturers. This puts energy is the region our eyes have the most trouble perceiving. As a result, the light appears far more natural than any standard or "full spectrum" lamp available. Finally, we reduced the peaks that our eyes are already the most sensitive to, the photopic region. Thus, THE SKYLIGHTER does not have the ubiquitous yellow green cast which is associated with fluorescent lighting.
