A fun networking lunch yesterday got me thinking about colorful interior design — and brought back memories of a wonderful project in Leesburg! 🎨✨

My clients wanted their dining room to feel colorful and inviting, using the beautiful citron and olive green tones in their existing wall art as the inspiration for the design.

The result? A bold, colorful transformation that feels fresh, welcoming, and full of personality! 💚💛

Check out the AFTER photo first, then swipe through to see where this colorful transformation began! Sometimes, a great piece of art can be the perfect starting point for an entire room!

Have you heard of the new design term "midimalism"?

For years, the design conversation seemed to swing between two distinct points of view. On one end was minimalism, with its clean lines, restrained palettes, and emphasis on simplicity. On the other was maximalism: a celebration of color, pattern, collections, and self-expression. Today, a growing number of interiors are finding a comfortable place somewhere in between.

This quote from the attached article really resonates with me because it's how I approach design:

“People are craving authenticity more than perfection right now. Homes that feel layered, lived in, and reflective of the people who live there tend to feel much more emotionally connected and timeless.”

If you want to learn how to achieve a midimalism look in your home, reach out to Ethos Interior Design!

Running a small business isn't just about doing the client work; it's also about NETWORKING - finding like-minded people, forming relationships, and building your pipeline through trust, respect, and visibility.

This week, I was fortunate to have great 1:1 meetings with 3 lovely women - Kelly Kovacev, Angela Goodman, and Dawn Peters. They all reminded me of the importance of female business owners supporting each other and building friendships. You gals made my week special! Thank you!!! 😍

Small bathrooms can be some of the trickiest spaces to design because they need to fit so much into such a compact footprint. Thoughtful attention to scale and proportion, elements that draw the eye upward, and layered lighting can make an incredible difference. This bathroom may be small, but its transformation is anything but!

✨ Check out the AFTER photos first, then scroll through to see just how dramatically the space changed from the BEFORE.

Small changes can make a big impact! ✨

This corner of a basement guest bedroom was beautifully refreshed with a few carefully chosen updates. We replaced the dresser, lounge chair, pillow, and lamp with more current, higher-quality pieces, then completed the space with modern floral artwork to add color and personality. We reused the client's black mirror and diamond-print area rug.

The result is a warm, welcoming retreat that feels inviting and ready for guests to enjoy. Sometimes, you don't need a full renovation—just the right pieces in the right places.

Contact Ethos Interior Design if you want to refresh a room in your house. We can often incorporate pieces you already own with new items to expertly revitalize your space.

It's been too long since my last post (busy working!), but here's a before-and-after of a portion of a primary bedroom project that I've been working on.

The room was dark, dated, and "heavy". Now it's lighter, brighter, and elegantly updated. The new white & blue drapery, brushed brass hardware, mirror and dresser k***s, and blue dot accent chair make such a difference!

Which change catches your eye first?

Crazy!!! Currently 38, feels like 21, high of 75?!? So far this morning, it’s been raining, snowing, back to raining, and it’s super windy. This is some crazy weather, especially after 82 and sunshine yesterday! 🤪
