Sometimes the small steps are the most important.

Drilling and securing the hoops back into place so the staves stay tight and the barrel stays strong as it’s rebuilt into a cabinet.

A little shop update on this Angel’s Vault build.

The sanding is finished and the character of the barrel is starting to show through. The steel hoops are now being drilled and screwed into place so everything locks together for the next phase.

Once the hardware is secured, it’s on to finishing and bringing this barrel back to life.

Every one of these builds starts the same way, a whiskey barrel that has already done its job aging great spirits. From there it’s cleaned up, reinforced, and slowly transformed into something completely new.

Because a barrel’s story doesn’t end at the distillery.

It just gets a second chapter.

Wild Turkey Mashbill No. 1 cabinet — complete.

Built from an authentic barrel, engraved head top, dual doors, interior shelving, and finished to bring that grain to life.

The contrast in this oak once the finish hit is unreal. The darkened staves, the aged steel bands, the original distillery character preserved — this one turned out exactly how it should.

Tim, this one’s ready for its new home.
