Here it is, a mini, pub style poker table (20” high, 36” round).

Who wants it?

If you are interested in this, here is what you can do to try to win it…

If you are in the Omaha metro area, you can come to Indian Creek’s Sand room on Saturday to see it in person and purchase a raffle ticket. I’d suggest that you do this before 3pm.

Otherwise, if you would like to purchase some tickets but cannot make it to Indian Creek on Saturday, DM me and I can secure the tickets for you.

All proceeds benefit the Down Syndrome of the Midlands.

🎟 Ticket Packages
3 tickets – $20
10 tickets – $50

What you see here is a 36” mini poker table (pub sized) made from white oak, then carved on the CNC.

The top is 1 3/8” thick and finished with a hard wax oil for a durable finish.

The base is a 20” tall Flowyline metal base, IYKYK.

This bad boy will be auctioned off for the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands on June 6th.

If you are interested in making a run at this item, I will share more details when we get closer, so mark your calendar and watch the page for more information.

Every June, myself and 55 of my brothers get together and raise money for Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands.

In the past few years, the group has been fortunate enough to expand it charitable giving and raise money for SIDS Nebraska, Angels Guardians, and Learning for All.

My contribution each year has come in the form of something custom made out of wood. In years past I have donated coffee tables, golf lockers, etc.

This year I am making a pub size poker table, which is still in progress.

I know many of you already have designations for your charitable giving and I would never ask you to choose my charity over yours.

That being said, if you have the ability to give a little more, I would greatly appreciate your support.

Below is the link if you do so choose to donate. You can place my name (Eric Lopeman or Waterloo Wood Works) as the golfer.

No donation is too small!

In 2010, a group of men started a golf tourney (Ryder Cup format) to see if they could golf 36 holes during the Summer Solstice. It was fun!

Long post warning…

I have always been interested in technology and finding ways to improve efficiency, thus my infatuation with my CNC.

I have been dabbling with AI the last few months on how it can help my business both inside and outside the shop.

Although my use of AI today was not earth shattering, it was able to help speed up a process of mapping an old moulding profile. I will not talk about how I use to do it, but it was detailed and took lots of time.

Now onto how I used AI today…

1. A buddy brought me a piece of base moulding he needed a copy of (image 1).

2. I took the moulding, painted the edge white so I would get a crisp contrast (image 2).

3. I uploaded the image to AI, asked to trace the shape of the moulding and make it crisp and black and white (image 3)

Detailing the rest of the process will make this post way too long, just know that magic happend, we sent the info to the CNC…..

More magic happened!

And p**f, we have a “pretty close” replica of the moulding (image 4).

Of you are interested in the whole process, i will be filming the whole process for a YouTube video which will be available soon.

If you have a house built in the last 30ish years, you might have one of these built in desks that never really gets used as a desk…

Might be time for an upgrade, just saying….
