Alrighty folks, we're in for a treat today, as this specimen features two intriguing gemstones that demand our attention! So we are going for a Back-To-Back of "Do you know your minerals?"

So let's start with the first identification round with this image showing the following.

We've got a rock with a pink to red-brown color with the hardness to withstand scratches; however, when you change the view and angle of the stone, the color seems to shift ever so slightly. Its luster is semi-vibrant and does remind one of the kyanite gemstone. The formation of this specimen resembles that of a rough topaz.

Father's Day is coming up soon. Want to get him something that he'll never forget?

We've got items that fulfill his habits and interests. Is he into hunting? We have taxidermy and fur pelts. Is he a collector of oddities? Due to recent developments, we wanted to ensure that all fellow rock fans and future clients were aware of our hours, so here's a quick recap!

Our regular business hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays; Sundays through Mondays are closed. Any early closures or closed days will be announced at our storefront entry or on Facebook.

Did you know that fossils aren't limited to bones, plants, hair, and footprints? They also involve vomit and f***s.

That's right; these specimens are called Coprolite fossils and are fossilized animal droppings that formed similarly to petrified wood, with the exception that they're mineralized with calcium phosphate, silica, or calcium carbonate.

This piece of ancient history can be utilized to determine the animal's diet, how their digestive system processes food, and any ailments they may have had at the time, making specimen finds like this rare and in good condition.
