Real talk: these flowers lived in their plastic trays on my deck for three weeks before I actually got them in the ground.

Three weeks. Because I’ve been so busy. Because I kept telling myself I’d do it when I had the time, when the conditions felt right.

And then I heard myself and laughed, because this is the exact thing I tell my clients all the time. The right conditions are not coming. There is no perfect window.

You’re not waiting for the moment, you’re just waiting. So I finally stopped waiting and just did it. Glad I took my own advice!

Backyard reveal is coming. A few more touches and this whole space is ready for summer.

Knicks in 5!

I designed this room while my son was at sleepaway camp last summer. Three days, start to finish. One of my best projects yet 😜. When he came home he was mindblown. He could not believe me and his dad pulled this off in 3 days.

he has been dreaming of this moment since the season started. Please don’t let him down.

Week 15, 16 + 17 of 52.

I almost quit this challenge.

Not because anything was wrong, just because life got busy and I let a few weeks slip and it starts to feel pointless. But I went looking for a specific photo and ended up scrolling through everything from these three weeks and said absolutely not, we are not stopping.

I said I would do this for a year. And mama didn’t raise a quitter.

Also I actually love looking back at what happened and what I was thinking.

These three weeks were a lot. NYC was the backdrop for three weekends in a row. A friend’s birthday, a b’nai mitzvah, and then a whole child free weekend in the city with my husband just roaming the streets for his birthday. We had the best time. Dedicated post coming because it deserves its own moment.

In between all of that, regular life just chugged along. The school runs, the errands, the coffee, the routine that holds everything together even when the weekends are full.

NYC will always have my heart. And I am not going to lie, I am very ready for these kids to go to college so we can move back. 😝

Onto week 18, 19 and 20 😝

I barely even slowed down the cart 🙈

But everything is content, right? Isn’t that what they say?

I had a successful 20 year career in higher education administration, pivoted to grow a successful organizing business, and now I’m trying my hand at this whole content thing.

And listen, as a millennial mom of two boys this content stuff can be sooooo cringe sometimes.

But it gets less and less cringe the more I show up.

So if your vibe is someone who talks a lot about organizing and begs you to stop adding to cart, but still wears expensive accessories with clothes from and is obsessed with then you are in the right place.

There is something deeply encoded in Dominican women’s DNA that activates the second warm weather hits. A hose. A bucket. A patio. That’s all we need.

In DR everything gets washed down. The floors, the porch, the sidewalk in front of the house. Water was not just for cleaning, it was a whole ritual. A love language.

In the US these houses are basically cardboard so I have to be strategic about it, but the minute it’s warm enough, everything outside is getting hosed down. The patio furniture. The deck. The kids, honestly, if they stand still long enough.
