Keeping middle schoolers organized should be an Olympic sport.

My kid has to leave his backpack in his locker, and last year that was a challenge until we found an expandable folder to keep all his important papers in one place.

Then I came across this Target binder while back to school shopping, and now we’re both excited because everything lives in one spot. Chromebook, supplies, folders, all of it.

As a professional organizer and a mom, I’m in love with this thing.

I organized closets for a living, and almost two years ago I started doing fit checks on a cruise to prove a point.

We all do the thing where the house has to be perfect before anyone’s allowed in. Baseboards wiped, the good towels out, a whole production nobody asked for.

And then the years go by and the dining room just sits there like a museum exhibit.

I didn’t buy this house to look at it. I bought it to fill it. Music on, food out, the grill going, people I love coming in and out.

The best part of this life was never the house. It’s who’s in it.

So consider this your sign to have them over before it’s perfect. It never will be, and perfect was never the point.

It was soooooo hard! 20 pics just don’t do it justice.

This was my absolute favorite island, not only because it was beautiful, but the hospitality, the food, and just all around immaculate vibes are what put the cherry on top of this amazing vacation.

You buy the bigger place, you fill it, and six months in you’re right back where you started, just with more square footage to clean.

I worked with hundreds of people as a professional organizer and it was never about the space.

It was never about the storage.

It was about what we actually want our homes to feel like when we walk in the door.
