Today’s craft supply list:

✔ Balloons
✔ Orbeez
✔ Children
✔ Questionable decision making

We spent the afternoon making homemade Orbeez squishies, and honestly, it was a hit.

Were they fun? Absolutely.

Did they eventually pop? Also absolutely. 😂

The squishies with fewer Orbeez, less water, and less balloon stretch obviously lasted much longer. Apparently stretching a balloon to its maximum capacity isn’t the best recipe for longevity. 🤣🤣 but it was so fun watching every inch of space get over taken by these growing beads.

The kids didn’t seem to mind. They spent hours squishing them, comparing them, and carrying them around before each one met its inevitable fate.

As much as I love creating things for My Yarn Oasis, some of my favorite projects are the ones I do with my kids. These are the moments they’ll remember long after the balloons are gone and the last stray Orbeez has been discovered under the couch.

✨ RELEASE WEEK IS HERE ✨

I had the honor of pattern testing the gorgeous by and just LOOK at this stitch work. 💜 The texture, the drape, the delicate detailing… this one feels so elegant while still being fun to crochet.

This pattern was such a joy to work on and I’m so excited everyone finally gets to see it release tomorrow! Make sure you go show Journey some love and grab the pattern when it drops. 🧶

A closer look because this sweet dragon really deserves the attention.

The wings and tail are wired, so they’re actually poseable… which means you can shape them instead of everything just sitting flat.

The spine and tail were designed to feel a little more organic… almost like moss or grass growing along it, with small flowers worked all the way down.

And the tail itself is shaped like a flower petal, which ended up being one of my favorite parts once it came together.

It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in how it feels once it’s in your hands.

The cutest little bitty goose! I think I need to make about 100 more. My littlest already stole this one and just runs away shouting “mine!”

I didn’t make these to sit on a shelf.

They’re meant to be used. On letters, journals, little bits of happy mail… anywhere you want to add something that feels a little more intentional.

They’re flexible, so you don’t have to worry about them cracking the second you actually use them (which… is kind of the problem with most wax seals).

And of course I couldn’t leave them plain. These are all inspired by Ellowen Vale, so they fit right in with everything else I’ve been creating lately.

Small detail, but it makes a difference.

This one was made to match her cockatiel, Spark.

And when she saw it, she said:

“I’m literally crying. Thank you so much for capturing Spark in such an amazing way.”

That’s the part of this I don’t take lightly.

It’s not just getting the colors right… it’s trying to capture something that actually feels like *them*. The little details, the personality, the things that matter to someone who knows that bird.

She also mentioned the tail feathers, the tiny heart, even the extra little details I included.

That’s always the goal.

If you’ve got a bird you love, I can work from photos and create something that feels like more than just a plush.

🌿✨ Ever thought of naming a baby moss sprite? Imagine a tiny guardian in every mossy nook.

Picture a sprite with forest-deep or dew-bright eyes. What would you name this magical being? Emerald green or mystical azure eyes?

Share your creative ideas!

- Name for this whimsical creature?
- Eye color that captures her essence?
- Why do these choices speak to you?

As a kid (okay, maybe as an adult too!), I imagined secret worlds in the woods. Excited to hear your thoughts!

This is the kind of plush that tricks you into thinking it’ll be quick and easy.

Like “oh it’s just a cute little dino, no big deal.”

…and then suddenly you’re reworking parts, adjusting shapes, and side-eyeing it like “why are you being difficult?”

But then it comes together and now I’m sitting here like yeah okay, you’re cute. You can stay. (You can’t actually stay, but I considered it.)

Also not gonna lie, I love how this one turned out. It’s got just enough attitude to not be *too* sweet
