A remarkable pair of Italian 18th century Grisaille wallpaper panels, grand in scale and rich in detail. Framed in patinated grey mottled frames, each scene carries the elegance of a painted landscape with a striking sense of depth and history.

🌳The first panel opens onto the Bay of Naples, where figures gather by the water, some at leisure and others fishing along the shore. Beyond them, elegant buildings and hillside palazzos frame the scene, with Mount Vesuvius beginning to emerge at the right, adding a striking sense of history, landscape, and grandeur.

🐑The second panel captures a classical river scene, with architectural buildings rising beside the water and a bridge stretching across the composition. Along the riverbank, figures in classical attire gather near a boat, while a shepherd and his sheep follow a path that leads toward the center of town, creating a beautifully layered sense of movement and place.

A remarkable work of 18th century Chinese craftsmanship, this Qianlong Period Coromandel screen unfolds with extraordinary scale, color, and detail. Across its eight lacquered panels, vivid Chinoiserie scenes are brought to life through traditional kuancai techniques, creating a piece that feels both architectural and deeply artistic.

The front showcases colorful peacocks, birds, butterflies, and water florals set within a natural landscape, framed by a richly patterned foliate border. The reverse reveals an impressively detailed military procession with classical soldiers, architectural elements, and striking tones of blue, green, and red.

Grand in both size and artistry, each side offers its own world to discover, with incised decoration, original iron hinges, and beautifully carved bracket feet completing the piece.
