🏛️A journey through Rome, captured piece by piece.

-

Across the surface of this exceptional Italian 19th-century Baroque-style center table, nine celebrated monuments of the Grand Tour are rendered in extraordinarily intricate micromosaic. St. Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Capitoline Hill, and other landmarks emerge from countless pieces of colored glass enamel, each individually placed to create remarkable depth, architecture, and perspective.

-

Set into a round Black Belgian marble top, each scene is framed by its own delicate micromosaic border, transforming the table into a visual tour through Rome and its ancient past. Below, an elaborately carved giltwood base of scrolling foliage, acanthus leaves, flowers, and shell motifs carries that same richness of detail throughout the piece.

A remarkable example of a centuries-old Italian art form, and a table that rewards an even closer look.

đź’ A remarkable example of Baccarat beyond the expected.
-
This French 19th century Louis Philippe Period water fountain is one of the more distinctive decorative works currently in our collection, pairing beautifully cut Baccarat Crystal with finely detailed Ormolu. The elongated crystal dispenser features both straight and diamond cuts, centered by its original spigot and finished above with an elegant twisted Ormolu rim and decorative lid.
-
What makes this piece so remarkable is simply how unexpected it is. Baccarat is celebrated for extraordinary decorative works, but a crystal water fountain of this scale and design is something entirely different, and unlike anything else currently in our collection.
-
A rare function, transformed into an object of beauty.

🔎A study in crystal, bronze, and extraordinary detail.
-
đź’ Arranged across two magnificent tiers, this 19th-century Empire style chandelier brings together twenty four lights within an elaborate composition of patinated bronze, ormolu, and crystal. Prism-shaped crystals extend outward in a striking stepped formation, while sweeping cut crystal garlands connect each level and lead down to the beautifully cut crystal ball suspended at its center.
-
A closer look reveals the remarkable work within the structure itself. Pierced foliate ormolu mounts, rosettes, palmettes, sculptural personages, and richly chased scrolling designs surround the central bronze band, while eight gracefully curved and fluted arms are finished with acanthus leaf accents, circular bobeches, and foliate candle cups.
-
Every layer introduces another detail, from the shape and arrangement of the crystals to the contrast of shimmering ormolu against deep patinated bronze.
