Trying something new - here’s a look at what’s happening inside.
I am trying something new with this one, and this video gives you an inside look at the behind the scene details. It combines multiple construction methods together into one. Should be nice and strong, and last for a few lifetimes of use.
Learning something new!
Something that I love about the community of craftsmen and makers is their willingness to share information and knowledge.
Nick’s Tip Of The Day!
Nick’s tip of the day - keeping a hidden tang handle straight and true to the spine. I wish I would have known this early on… so this is my attempt to spare you from some of the struggles that I went through. Always learning, always improving. Keep after it fellow makers!
New film crew - how did they do?
I’ve hired a new film crew… let me know how they did. 🔈Make sure audio is on when you watch this one, the video isn’t the same without it.
Talking about horizontal carry.
A little bonus talk at the end about horizontal carry. There are pros and cons to every carry position, it is very much a personal preference. At the end of this video I talk a little bit about horizontal carry and some of its benefits.
Showing you what my stitching machine looks like 😂 it works pretty fast!
Talking about the flat platen.
Flat platens do not magically stay flat on their own. If you have struggled with getting crisp bevels off the grinder, take a look at your platen and see if it may be contributing to the issue. The glass platen stays flat 10 times longer than steel. This one I am using is from Pop’s Knife Supply. I hope someone out there finds this helpful… thanks for watching!
The final step before heat treat - making my mark. #create #custom #art #handmadecrafts
