What do I like to do when I’m not sourcing, packing orders, or live on Whatnot? Usually at the gym. 🤸‍♀️🤍

I’ve been on a fitness journey for the past year after having my first baby, and as cliché as it may sound, the gym has become one of my favorite places to be.

It’s one of the only places where no one needs anything from me and I can fully focus on myself for one short hour. It has become my therapy, my escape, and the place where I feel the strongest-mentally and physically.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of days when I have absolutely zero motivation, especially after a late show or a long night of packing orders. Sometimes, I would much rather stay curled up on the couch. 😂 But every time I walk into the gym, I’m proud of myself for getting up and showing up.

I’m learning that taking care of myself isn’t selfish, helps me be a better mom, wife, and business owner. 🤍

Here’s what a difference ONE YEAR can make in your small business. 🥹🤍

On the left is where The Darling Dove Co. started- with a hutch my mom let me borrow that I could barely fill once a week.

I had no following on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. I was truly starting from the ground up. If I could go back and change one thing, I probably would’ve started building my social media before launching my business… but honestly, there’s something really special about knowing we built this community from ZERO. 🕊️

My very first Whatnot show averaged about 12 people in the room. I went live for THREE HOURS and sold 20 items.

And you know what? I was absolutely HOOKED.

At the time, that felt like the biggest success in the world. I was a new mom and I just felt so excited that I found an avenue to help financially. I had only been on the app for a week, I didn’t know what “good numbers” looked like, and I didn’t give myself time to compare my journey to anyone else’s. I just dove in and kept going.

Fast-forward a little over a year…

We’re approaching 18,000 followers on Whatnot, we’ve built this amazing community here on Facebook, and this little business has become something I never could have imagined while standing in front of that hutch. 🥹

I’ve created lifelong friendships with people I never would have met without The Darling Dove Co. some I haven’t even met in person YET. 🤍 I’ve found a community that supports me, challenges me, teaches me, and makes this business so much more than selling vintage.

I’m still learning. I’m still trying new things. I’m still figuring out new ways to grow and dreaming about what comes next.

But sometimes it’s really important to look back at where you started.

I’m so incredibly grateful for this journey, for every person who has supported my little business, and for every single Darling who has been a part of it. 🕊️🤍

I can’t wait to see where we are this time next year.

As fall is approaching, ALL the cozy foods and drinks are on my mind. And this is one I look forward to every single year! Although, if I’m being honest, it’s definitely more about the cinnamon roll than the chili for me. 🤣

I grew up eating chili with cinnamon rolls, and now I love making it in my own home. There’s just something so nostalgic and cozy about it. 🥹🤍

But apparently this combo is CONTROVERSIAL?! 👀😂
