It’s been a while (one baby & a pandemic later…) but I had the opportunity to help a family get their pantry organized!
Their pantry is a walk-thru pantry located between their mud room & their laundry room, so it’s on display 24/7! We opted for these simple white y-weave baskets from to keep their items neatly contained on the open shelves.

My rules to keep my kitchen neat and tidy:

1. It has to be beautiful AND functional to earn a space on my kitchen counters.

2. Always go through the mail. As soon as I come home I open the mail and handle it immediately. The majority goes directly to recycle bin, bills go in my purse, magazines in living room, and I always open packages right away, put away the contents, and recycle packaging.

3. Always go to bed with a clean kitchen. I use a nice smelling counter spray (I like the Method brand's cleaning sprays), it makes your house smell fresh and clean when you go to bed, and when you wake up!

4. Have a designated area to keep your keys, purse, etc that is adjacent to the kitchen, not ON the kitchen counter. I have key hooks and a coat hook in the hallway between the garage door and the kitchen, and make a habit out of using those so I always know where my keys/purse/coat is when I'm leaving in the morning.

I’ve been busy the last couple of weeks decorating and decluttering!
As I unpacked each box of Christmas decorations I pulled out each item and immediately put it up if I liked it, or put it in a sell/donate bag if it wasn’t an item I wasn’t 💯% in love with! I was able to part with 1 big storage box of Christmas decor items!👏
