This President's Day weekend, we’re celebrating more than just President Washington and Lincoln's birthdays – we’re also reflecting on a fascinating piece of presidential history! In 1891, President Benjamin Harrison became the first U.S. president to live in an electrified White House. 🔌🏛️

However, despite the groundbreaking technology, Harrison and his wife were so afraid of electrocution that they had the White House staff turn the lights on and off for them! 😅💡

It’s a fun reminder of how far we've come in the world of electricity. At Standard Electric, we're proud to be part of a field that powers progress and innovation every day. ⚡️Our branch locations and corporate office will be closed on Monday, February 17th for the holiday and will re-open on Tuesday February 18th at normal business hours.

As we gather together this season to give thanks, we want to take a moment to express our appreciation for our incredible team. This year, we are especially grateful for the results of our annual Cultural Values Assessment. We are thrilled to share that our overall cultural score is an impressive 93%, well above the industry average of 51% which supports our commitment of employee fulfillment.

As we reflect on all we’ve accomplished together, we’re reminded that it’s your hard work and commitment that make us such a strong competitor in our marketplace. 💡✨
