I had a wild hair and chose to submit 2 quilts into the Kentucky State Fair. I knew going into it these weren't going to win any ribbons/recognition but how cool is it to hang your art up for the world....well, state to see! So, the first quilt I wanted to send was the First Year Quilt - the story is below to explain its meaning. Then the second was one I had made that doesn't quite have a home yet. So why not? I visited the fair Monday and the other quilts there are just 😲🤯🥰 let's just say I have a lot of work to do for next year!

Would you believe me if I told you these hearts are made from clothing? That's right! My client wanted a way to have a special keepsake of her late Mom's shirts.
What better way to showcase a mother's love and have the ability to wrap yourself up in a piece of her. ❤️

This was once a tshirt blanket. The owner wanted to incorporate more shirts and didn't like how heavy the blanket was with fleece backing. So I put my seam ripper to use and took the blanket apart, replaced the stabilizer on the shirts, and resized the blocks so they'd all fit the size she ordered.
The most fun part of putting this quilt together was the backing - absolutely gorgeous! Can you tell it has 3 sections? I'm really pleased with how this quilt turned out. 😀

My second Crown Royal quilt complete and is home to it's new owner. Thank you Vickie choosing me to make a special gift for your husband. 💕
This is a king size quilt. I was told to incorporate camo and stuck with earthy tones for the background.

Just whipped up another quilt, haha wish it was that wasy! The pattern, Hello Posy, is courtesy of the ridiculously talented Melanie Traylor of Southern Charm Quilts, who makes patterns look easy and does a lot of free motion quilting. I've managed to FMQ it on my domestic machine before it gets its spa day.

I recently made a quilt using the Spinwheel pattern by Getz Made 😍 I opted for a super modern straight stitch, because who doesn't love a little simplicity in life.
Fun fact: these triangles kicked my butt! Three times the charm they say? 🤷‍♀️
