✨ Meet Your Award-Winning Creation Specialist, Amy Alka! ✨

For 26 years, Amy Alka dedicated her career to teaching agriculture and biology at a local high school, where she also served as an FFA Advisor. Her passion for education, creativity, and helping others has continued throughout her career.

For the past nine years, Amy has served as a Purdue University Agriculture & Natural Resources Extension Educator, specializing in commercial agriculture.

Her journey into floral preservation began when her daughter, a florist, started receiving requests from customers interested in preserving their wedding flowers. Intrigued by the idea of turning cherished flowers into lasting keepsakes, Amy decided to pursue the opportunity herself. She purchased a Suspended in Time franchise and received specialized training in the art of floral preservation.

Today, Suspended in Time at Salt Creek offers custom floral preservation and wedding gown preservation, creating one-of-a-kind keepsakes designed to preserve the memories behind some of life’s most meaningful moments.

🌸 Your flowers tell a story.
👰 Your gown holds memories.
❤️ Your moments deserve to last.

Clients are never turned away—but sometimes, their flowers may be.

Every bouquet arrives with its own story, and my goal is to create a beautiful, high-quality encasement that you’ll be proud to display for years to come. Unfortunately, flowers that have been improperly stored, damaged, or allowed to deteriorate may not always be suitable for preservation.

But that doesn’t mean your vision has to end there!

When possible, we can reorder the same or similar flowers to give us the quality blooms needed to create a beautiful encasement while still honoring the look and meaning of your original bouquet.

This is one of the many reasons why planning your floral preservation before your wedding or special event is so important. A little preparation can make a big difference in the final result.

How you care for your flowers after your special event—and before I receive them—can make all the difference. 🌸

Proper storage is vitally important to my ability to create a beautiful, high-quality preservation piece for you. The sooner your flowers are cared for properly, the better chance we have of preserving their color, shape, and special details.
