Here are a few of the decisions we made for this Tennessee stunner.
1. How to delineate between the 10’ kitchen ceiling and 12’ living room ceiling in an intentional and connected way (answer: with this bad ass sculpted drywall opening, that’s how)
2. How to create sufficient storage without a sea of basic upper cabinets (answer: flanking 4’ wide hutch style uppers; one for appliances, another for dishware)
3. How to incorporate windows into the range wall despite a view of the neighbors house (answer: film the glass, wrap the casing in stone, natural light + privacy + style).
4. How to take the blank walls beside the fireplace and give them functional and aesthetic purpose without plopping two base cabinets under the windows (answer: ditch the windows that look at the other neighbors house, build the drywall out and recess cabinetry and open shelving into a beautiful arch, clad it in stone and plaster the mantel wall to call back to the kitchen hood.)

There’s a lot to love in this Keene’s Point home in Windermere FL.

Layout decisions resolved:
-Spice cabinets on the left and right of the range alcove open to the countertop, allowing for full use of the depth on the right.
-Furniture style island with no base shelf and electrical run through leg for microwave.
-Wet Bar upper cabinets sit 24” off counter height to allow for a drop zone when entering from the pool area.

📍 KEENE’S POINTE, WINDERMERE
In the Town of the Lakes, the best views aren’t always outside the window.

A full renovation in Keene’s Pointe, rethinking this home well beyond finishes.

The kitchen was planned around how the space actually needs to function, from the oversized furniture-style island and appliance storage to the integrated refrigeration, generous prep zones and the relationship between the kitchen, bar and surrounding rooms. Every clearance, cabinet and sightline was considered before getting to the part everyone sees: the finishes.

Warm whites, soft green, natural wood, aged brass and blackened steel give it a collected, established feel rather than something that reads like a brand-new renovation.

Because a beautiful kitchen is great. A beautiful kitchen that was planned properly first is even better.
