This weekend I caught up on at least one project- it was a quilt outside of my wheelhouse. But for a good cause. My guild gave me this panel of Dr Seuss alphabet, I cut it up, added this Irish chain and voilà, we have a baby blanket.
Our quilt guild donates regularly to various organizations that serve folks that need a little comfort in their present situations. I hope this will bring a child some of that one day.

I’m kind of not surprised that Pop of the 80s got rejected because it’s really hard to photograph. It’s a shame because everyone should see the quilting on it which is exemplary and by the indelible and what we’re calling “Beetlegeuse quilting”
My other reject is Hawaiian Dreams or whatever I’m calling it using all fabrics by and hand quilted
I love this quilt for its flannel backed coziness and all the crunchiness created by my time spent hand quilting it
Looking forward to seeing all those accepted in Raleigh this Feb!

Experimenting with some new natural indigo and glue on these table runners and napkins
Did you all know that a lot of indigo sold for tie- dying is actually made with petroleum products ???!?! Eeeeeeeeewwwwwww
So I got some natural indigo. It definitely doesn’t go as indigo as fast and needs a title fermenting time. Also has a very different smell lol Loving the learning process

Last November I did a quit challenge (2 posts ago, that’s how long it’s been since I’ve really sewn and been online)

Took a lovely class on natural botanical fiber dying today from knitter Rachel Kahn whose suede leather voice eased the fears of dying fabrics and yarns through thoughtful explanation. The farms Master Gardener Casey was informative and patient as he explained how we could grow our dyes and gave out seeds that produce, can you guess it? Orange, my favorite color from a specific cosmo. Can’t wait to plant in spring and make my own.
