Sawdust and steam. That's what built the Piney Woods. 🌲🌲🌲

Small businesses still keep it standing.

This June we're calling it Sawmill Summer on the Square. A tip of the hat to the working hands that turned this corner of Texas into something worth gathering around. By 1890, Tyler County had nineteen sawmills running. The pines fed the families. The families built the towns. The towns built the traditions.

We still gather where they did. Around the courthouse. Around each other.

Bring Dad. Bring Grandpa. Bring the kid who's never seen a courthouse square come alive at sunset.

On May 9th, the Square turns into a front porch.

We're proud to feature Jakob Brackin & Colton Horner leading a song swap with some of the most talented voices around East Texas (your neighbor, possibly). If you've never been to a song swap, here's the gist. A handful of singer-songwriters take turns trading songs and the stories behind them, all on one stage. It's intimate. It's honest. And it's the kind of music that fits a small-town Saturday night just right.

Woodville, we see the forecast.

Yes, there's rain in the picture for Saturday (EARLY morning). We're watching it closely, and as of right now, Second Saturday on the Square is still on for May 9th.

Here's the why: this month, we're standing with the Woodville Fire Department.

We'll keep monitoring the sky and let you know the second anything changes. Our firefighters show up no matter the weather. Saturday, we're showing up for them.

Second Saturday on the Square | May 9th

This month, we're showing up for the people who always show up for us.

On May 9th, Second Saturday on the Square will be hosting a benefit for the Woodville Fire Department. These are our neighbors. Our friends. The folks who answer the call at 2 a.m. without hesitation. Come help us give back.

👨‍🚒👩🏻‍🚒 Fill the Boot will be on the Square that evening. Every dollar goes directly toward supporting our local fire department and the community they protect.

🎟 Benefit Raffle in Support of WVFD - One lucky supporter will take home a R***r Gen II Predator 350 Legend.

Raffle tickets are available in person at Cypress and Creed - $5 each | 5 for $20

👉🏼 All proceeds 👈🏼 benefit the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department.

Join us on May 9th on the historic courthouse square in downtown Woodville. Live music, local vendors, food trucks, and a community coming together for something that matters.

Vendors wanted. Second Saturday on the Square returns May 9th and spots are filling up. Booths are $20 in person at Cypress & Creed or Rosanna's Taqueria, or $25 online via Venmo.
