The band was formed in 2011, with Justin Ursua on Vocals/Lead Guitar, Kenneth Guevara on Drums, Henry Alvarez on Vocals/Keys, Steve Lawsin on Rhythm Guitar, and Aidz Dedal on Bass. The name Accord was chosen because it symbolizes harmony and agreement. The band was formed way back when Justin started Accord as a project band. He and Kenneth were band mates in a different band at that time, and both of them were already using their respective instruments. After a few years, Justin invited Kenneth to join Accord as the original drummer left to pursue further studies in music. Steve came in as a replacement to the band’s former bassist, who recently migrated to Canada then switched to rhythm guitar shortly. The latest additions to the band, Henry and Aidz came on board when they were referred when the band was looking for a keyboardist and bassist. The band members came from different disciplines of music. Justin is a music major and he specializes in Jazz. Kenneth is a geologist, and he literally rocks. It is his favorite genre too. Henry specializes in electronic dance music, and his playing would leave the audience grooving. Steve specializes in alternative and punk music. Aidz's favorite type of music is alternative rock
The band’s sound leans towards the soul funk rock kind. Given the differences in genres, they are still able to make that one, unique flavour that is the signature sound of Accord. The band is currently recording tracks for their Extended Play (EP) record, and a release of a single. Accord can be found usually in bars like Checkpoint and Verdandi, but they also have gigs up north or even further down south.
