Kiln opening! I’m so pleased!

The anticipation! The kiln glaze fired yesterday. Took 8 hours and reached a temp of 2236 degrees F! Can’t open the kiln...

The anticipation! The kiln glaze fired yesterday. Took 8 hours and reached a temp of 2236 degrees F! Can’t open the kiln until it cools to 100-125 degrees F which takes a good 15+ hours. So excited for kiln opening!

I’m happy to announce the my pottery studio has officially moved back into our house! (We were displaced from our home for an entire year while it was being repaired from an incredibly damaging lightning strike.)
Fortunately I was able to create a temporary studio in the basement of our office building but being back home is the best!

I had my first “explosion” during a bisque firing which resulted in a busted bowl, but luckily no other casualties and no kiln damage.

Excited to start the glazing process for all these fun pieces! Stay tuned for the results (but don’t hold your breath
this is gonna take awhile!)

OhanaJoy Pottery will be have a booth in front the Riverwalk Bldg on Mill Street during Plymouth’s annual Mill Street Festival 9am-4pm tomorrow!

Going to have my first sale show Dec 2nd in Wisconsin Dells with my future daughter-in-law! Selling a lot of my early work.

Note: My house was hit by lightning in July so my studio is not available to me until repairs are complete sometime next year. Working on my pottery at other studios when I can, but probably won’t be able to sell again until next fall. Can’t wait to get my studio back!

Looking at doing a craft shadow this September and also selling at Plymouth’s Thursday afternoon farmer’s market (Sheboygan Interfaith Organization) which will now be held downtown in the Riverwalk Center (Joseph & Joseph Dental, LLC) parking lot! Stay tuned!
