Cherry 🍒 Blossom trees were blooming in our Shaffer SpEd classes today!

Students used their ✋ïļ to trace around their wrists and fingers, creating the trunk and limbs for their tree. Then, with Qtips dipped in two shades of pink, we brought our ðŸŒļ to life.

Our goal was to master control of the tools and take our time to craft our works of ðŸŽĻ 🖞.

It's a busy day in the craft room!

I'm making Christmas and holiday gifts using repurposed and upcycled materials. Thanks to my awesome connectors and collaborators for keeping me supplied!

I scored some great square dowels from our neighbor's storage clearance, which will be perfect for my second-grade students.

My special needs kids also created adorable air dry clay ornaments - they worked so hard on rolling, patterning, and cutting with cookie cutters. Stay tuned for their tree display at the Merced County Courthouse!

Plus, I'm working on wax melts and handmade candles ðŸ•Ŋ as gifts.

Day 1 of our afterschool program is complete!

This semester, we're studying printmaking and learning how to create our unique prints using items we can find around our house. ðŸĪŠ

Cardboard, foam stickers, and rubber bands are just a few of the items we used to make our templates. Students are also learning about a key element in art ðŸŽĻ - positive and negative space

New Skill Level - Unlocked!

Had the privilege of attending a bead bracelet workshop last Saturday with the one and only Kate Richbourg (), and we learned how to make a wrap bracelet.

Many new techniques, products, and skills were learned, and if I'm honest, there were a couple of tears.

As much as I love learning a new craft, it's hard and overwhelming sometimes. But, I stuck with it and am really happy with the end result.
