As a resident, I am helping our community to update our building. We have started with the ground floor, that has to withstand a lot of daily traffic. The current carpeting has not been replaced for approximately 30 years! So as you’ve probably guessed, I’m itching to pull the old carpeting out.
The choices we have selected for our common spaces, consist of two different product materials. Luxury vinyl will be installed for our community room, where lots of events that include food and drink happen.
We needed a resilient no fuss attractive carpet for our hallways that would stand the test of time. Milliken & Company was the answer for us, allowing us to swap out any damaged tiles without having to replace the entire carpet or piecing in new sections.
Milliken & Company provided us with solutions for our refresh project and we can wait to get started.The rug will be laid in a diamond pattern down the hallways. Every floor will gradate lighter as you ascend onto the upper floors.
The cement luxury vinyl flooring is soft underfoot, to absorb all the dancing that will be happening in that room. The floor will be installed in a staggered pattern for additional visual interest.
I’ll keep you posted on the arrival of the carpet tiles and the overall installation. Sourcing is only one aspect of any refresh or renovation. Skill and product vendor relationships can make or break any project. Great customer service is always a key element to a great overall result.
An exciting week for sure. Now to select the paint!
