The client is very happy with deciding to go ahead with replacing and extending this retaining wall to create a larger amount of usable space and giving it a sharper, cleaner and updated look. A solid layer of drainage rock separates the organics from keeping moisture against the wall and prevents rot. Skirted back with a dead head system, this will last for many decades to come.

Almost there.

10" (5/8) rebar spikes driven through each layer about every 4ft. Solid base and foundation anchored in and buried first course.

Anchored back with a deadhead system.

This wall is coming along nicely and looks amazing👌

The hard part is done. The rest of the wall should be a sinch from here . Anchored with 2ft spikes into the earth and will be re-enforced with 15mm (5/8") rebar throughout this wall and anchored 4ft into the hillside with a dead head system when complete.

More to come. So excited!

For the entirety of last year I worked alongside K2 contracting (K2 is based out of Rossland, BC) to construct what is now one of the largest walls on Christina Lakes. K2 was the Contracting company hired to develop and construct the entire property.

Everyone was very happy with how this wall turned out and boy was it a great opportunity to be a part of this amazing project.

Plans were approved in conjunction with local rules and regulations to have no concrete or foreign materials below the high water mark of the lake in an ongoing effort to preserve the lakes ecosystems.
The solution was a galvanized steel wire cage system that were filled with native material from the area. The rocks in the cages were hand placed to 'face' the cages to showcase the beautiful arrangement of rocks this area has hidden beneath its surface. The gabian cages were filled with natural rock that we screened from the earth during the excavation process. Couldn't have turned out any better.

The walls and bases were all prepped and constructed with the proper procedures with compaction, every few lifts of substrate, below the bases of the first corse or wall. The first course of the entire wall were (almost) entirely buried so there's no way the wall will ever push forward. A camber was added to the wall and set back with a 2% grade to ensure longevity and for style. Backfilled with the proper drainage material and compacted meticulously layer after layer all the way to the top. The wall was skirted back with a geogrid retention system every 3rd corse. Proper filter cloth material was installed throughout the wall to ensure there was no blending of material and the wall will provide proper drainage for many years to come and without failure from freeze thaw cycles.

This wall should last for 50 years or more without moving an inch... at least!

Thanks K2 for allowing me to assist in this project and for overseeing it through to a beautiful completion.

Stunning results!

Sometimes we do little things to go the extra mile. Fixed this small hole in this clients basement while we were at it.

Fixed up a few patches in their flagstone with the leftovers.

This fence project turned out so well and we couldn't be happier to help our wonder clients and their rescue dogs.

A simple and stylish fence to accent the house.

This client needed a fence to stop some of their many rescue dogs from forging up the hill to hunt for the voles that continually want to nest in the hillside. No problem. We can help with that.
