Hi everyone! Just wanted to do a little Boo Boo appreciation post! She is my best little furry friend and the most wonderful cat in the whole world! ❤️
Unfortunately this week Boo Boo was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. This is a relatively common disease in older cats, and luckily is very often treatable. Hyperthyroidism causes weight loss and hunger, and is due to a growth in the thyroid.
We've been reviewing options and are likely going to undergo a one-time treatment in the near future. Hopefully afterwards Boo Boo will be back to her normal happy and healthy self!
Worst part of the treatment is she will be radioactive for a short time after, so she must stay at the facility in isolation for 1-2 weeks. I know she won't be happy about that, and I don't know how I'm going to manage either!
Please make sure to always keep up with your vet visits and get your little furry friends tested! We are lucky enough to have caught this pretty early, and are hoping for a 100% recovery soon.
Thank you all for the support you have given me and Boo Boo over the years. I am always telling her how people say she is so cute, and when you ask me to say "hi" to her I always do! Your support means a lot, not only to us, but we've been able to donate thousands of dollars to the Community Cat Connection these past years due to your orders. ❤️
