Happy International Woman’s Day! This photo is nearly a year old now and looking back I’m still just as amazed at what my body did as I was then. Womanhood now to me seems to be changing as my identity is in a constant state of flux as a new mother. It’s difficult to describe this new terrain and the complexities of navigating it in a way that feels “right”. Especially when it’s so easy for outside voices to tell us who we should be and what we should do at any give point in our own lives. I’m happy to know and champion many other woman in my life that are navigating their own worlds alongside of mine. We should always be there for each other.

A start to a new and introspective series that I hope to have more time to work on soon.

It’s a new twist on my sculptural paintings. It’s nice to watch people interact with it as you can’t initially see the painting that is tucked away inside the fiber sculpture.

What a time at Dallas last week!

I had a wonderful experience meeting new amazing artists, collectors, art lovers, and fellow fiber artists!

We all kept hearing over and over that the caliber of art being shown this year was the best it has been, and that is such a compliment to hear. Especially since this was my first fair.

I needed a week to recover from all the talking 😉, this girl’s used to being cooped up at her home studio with her baby now. But what a great way to push myself and push me to get out there more.

This will be the first of many!

A MASSIVE thank you to my dear friend for taking so much time out of her already busy art life to help me and show me around. Her support is immeasurable as is my gratitude. I’m so lucky to have found a friend like her 😘

And THANK YOU to anyone who came up and let me talk about my art! It’s so rewarding to do so with people who have never seen it before. I hope you keep following the journey and stick around!

This organization supports and improves the lives of children in Dallas county who have experienced abuse.
