This simple bathroom was designed as part of a young family flat renovation. In this room I have used the Mattonelle Margherita collection by Mutina and Nathalie Du Pasquier, a colorful series that brings joy and humor to the family’s everyday life.
In this series of photos I have chosen to eliminate color in order to emphasize the intensity of the collection’s pattern. Removing color changed the atmosphere of the space in the images and gave me an opportunity to present the dramatic character of the porcelain stoneware ornament. The black-and-white visuals and the low angle or wide shots gave the photos an expressive cinematic style.

EXPOSURE: TIME
A proposal for The Korean War Memorial Park. In collaboration with arch. .
In our vision, the Memorial Park's main goal was the cultivation of a nuanced historical awareness by focusing on the principals of exposure and time. The park is structured as a movement from the present towards the past, concretizing in form the visitor’s subjective experience. At one extreme is the past, marked so radically by the mass graves. The memorial complex, arises from the ground, bespeaks the visitor’s present and the recreation center holds the promise of a different future.

The Memorial Hall at the Korean War Memorial Park, designed in collaboration with arch. Lotem Hamama

The principle of symmetry and its uncanny effects underlie this structure. It is expressed in different figurations, through work with four natural elements charged with symbolic meaning: soil, fire, water, and sky. At the center of the hall are two giant triangles, penetrating each other in opposite directions. The triangle whose basis lies on the floor is made out of polished stainless steel, reflecting back as a mirror. The triangle’s body is pierced randomly throughout, creating small niches for remembrance candles, and the triangle’s top points upwards to the sky. The second triangle is made of transparent glass, and is filled with soil, echoing the victims. Fittingly, this triangle faces the ground.
