It is important to remember that many of those commercial spaces were probably handed to us as concrete shells or even redundant nightclubs! We have designed and built the transformation and when you study those photographs, study them well because all elements will have been specified by ourselves and you’ll be hard pushed to find items that we haven’t also fabricated, including the display cabinets, wall and floor units, lightboxes, etc.

As we step into the New Year, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for what has been one of our busiest and most rewarding years yet at Formadesign.

From bringing exciting new projects to life, to continuing to collaborate with long-standing clients and brilliant partners, the past year was filled with moments we’re truly proud of. Winning the Contract Fit Out Award was a standout highlight and a real testament to the care, creativity and teamwork behind everything we do.

We’ve also loved seeing the team grow and evolve, continuing to shape spaces with the same passion and attention to detail that defines Formadesign.

Now, as we move forward into 2026, we feel excited for what’s ahead. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this journey, we’re looking forward to continuing to build what comes next together.

As we head into the run-up to Christmas, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what’s been a really busy period. We’re incredibly grateful to our team and clients who’ve worked tirelessly to tie up loose ends before the festive break. 🙌

Our last day in the office will be today (18th December) before we return on 5th Jan. Wishing everyone a wonderful festive period. See you in the New Year! 🎄 🌟

WARNING❗

It’s come to light this morning that a colleague has been scammed — £2,000 yesterday and almost another £1,200 today.

Right before Christmas! Someone simply trying to do something kind was taken advantage of, and we’re furious this has happened.

This was a gift card scam.
Scammers send emails that look like they’re from a manager, boss, friend, or family member. They create urgency and ask you to buy gift cards, then send photos of the scratched‑off codes. Those codes are used like cash — once they’re gone, they’re gone.

This isn’t about being stupid - This is about being human.

They prey on trust, kindness, and the desire to help.

How to Protect Yourself
• Stop & Think: If someone asks you to buy something urgently, pause.
• Verify: Call the person on a known number — never the one in the email.
• Never Share Codes: Gift card codes = cash.
• Check the Email Address: Look for odd spellings or strange domains.
• Work Requests: Always confirm in person or through a trusted channel.

If You Think You’ve Been Scammed
• Contact your bank immediately.
• Report it to your local consumer protection agency.

We have shared some important contact information in the images. We’re sharing this because we don’t want anyone else to fall victim.

Meet the team! 👋

We’re excited to introduce James, a Part II RIBA-qualified architect bringing over 25 years of experience to the Formadesign team.

We asked James to share more about his journey and the way he approaches design...

About me:

💼 My career has taken me through a wide range of sectors including public art installations, stadiums, commercial offices and workplace interiors.
Alongside practice, I’ve also taught at the University of Gloucestershire, which has helped me stay connected to emerging technologies while mentoring the next generation of designers.

My favourite part of my role:

📝 Forma allows me to explore design at both a macro and micro scale: understanding client needs, shaping exciting and functional concepts, and ensuring the smallest details are considered in their delivery.

What motivates me:

🤝 I’m inspired by collaborative working. At Forma, everyone contributes to a project from start to finish, and it’s incredibly refreshing to work in an environment where colleagues openly share knowledge, insights and ideas.

Outside of work:

🎬 I have a real appreciation for the arts, especially film and music, and I enjoy spending time outdoors. You’ll often find me fishing with my family, usually followed by a Sunday roast.

The spaces I love to create:

✍️ My passion lies in bringing designs to life. I specialise in transforming architectural ideas into vivid, immersive visual experiences that communicate the true essence of a space.

My aim is always to create visuals that not only showcase a design, but inspire, engage and connect people to the spaces they imagine.

From concept to the real thing.

Every space starts as a sketch, a mood board, an idea on a screen. But watching it turn into something you can actually walk through is a feeling that never gets old.

There’s so much that happens behind the scenes - refining the brief, shaping the concept, solving challenges, and bringing every detail to life.

And then you step into the finished space. It makes every hour, hurdle and decision worth it.

Turning ideas into reality will always be our favourite part of the job.

Meet the team! 🙋‍♂️

We’re excited to share that Miles has recently joined the Formadesign team, working with us here at our office at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

We asked Miles a bit about his background and approach to design…

About me:

📕 I studied Interior Architecture and Design at Leeds Beckett University, which launched me into retail and hospitality design. An industry I’ve been immersed in for three years.

My favourite part of my role:

📝 The early concept stage is what excites me most. I love collaborating with clients to blend their vision with my imagination and shape a concept we’re both proud of.

A recent project I’ve enjoyed:

🍫 A highlight has been visualising and developing a new Lindt store for one of Europe’s busiest shopping centres.

What motivates me:

🤝 Working with clients on new concepts constantly pushes my creative and technical abilities. You really never stop learning in this industry - and that ongoing evolution is something I find genuinely exciting.

Outside of work:

🏔️ I love being outdoors - hiking, camping, mountain biking or fishing. Being in nature gives me a reset I really value.

The spaces I love to create:

✍️ I enjoy creating niche, impactful and memorable spaces that feel special. Strong concepts, thoughtful detailing and material choice are at the core of my design approach.

Since 2004, we’ve been bringing retail and hospitality spaces to life, from first sketches to full builds. 21 years, countless projects, amazing clients….and yes, finally upping our game on social media! 🥳

Recently, we were thrilled to receive ‘Contract Fit Out of the Year’ at the for our work on Piccadilly lights Flagship.

We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built and excited to showcase more of the incredible projects we work on with both large clients and small businesses.

Whether it’s a one-off flagship or part of a bigger rollout, we love creating spaces that make a difference!
