Another overdue before and after from the largest primary bathroom I have had the opportunity to renovate. The homeowners had not used the space in over a year after a water leak in the shower walls caused them to have to remediate. We took out every surface and started from scratch. Now I have the itch to add a cozy fireplace in every bathroom renovation!

It was time to transition a guest room into a pre-teen hang out space that would carry through the next several years, but also reflects the interests and personality of the kiddo right now. I hope this young man feels right at home in his new room. There are so many things I love about being an interior designer - the opportunity work with wonderful people, creating personal spaces that reflect the unique styles and interests of each client, and the fact that no two projects are ever the same. I am monumentally grateful for the creative outlet design affords me.

The one thing you can count on in the course of a renovation is that something will not go as planned. Don’t panic. Time to get creative.

After extensive searching, it became evident that matching the original brick to patch in what had been removed to replace the doors and windows was not going to happen. Now what? Opportunity knocked.

Where can I find this brick if NO ONE has it? On the house of course! We removed brick from select areas on the front of the house to use in the back and replaced the front brick with a white Texas limestone that drastically improved the curb appeal of the home. The kicker is that the limestone was even less expensive than the brick we had planned to purchase (if we had been able to find it). Win-win!
