I am very excited to announce the launch of my new 'Workshop in a Box' – a comprehensive introduction to weaving on a frame loom!

I wanted to create a kit that teaches you how to weave a proper piece of cloth, using a small, portable loom. I've brought together everything I've learnt through years of weaving and teaching, guiding you through every stage – from assembling your loom and putting on a warp, right through to finishing your cloth.

But it's not just about learning how to weave. The kit also introduces you to the importance of recording your work and building your own weaving archive, giving you a foundation to continue exploring and developing your skills.

Inside the box you'll find:

- A Louët Lisa Frame Loom Louët | wheels and looms
- Five colours of British wool yarn
- A comprehensive, illustrated instruction booklet
- Step-by-step video tutorials
- Five weaving projects to explore
- Sample archive cards
- Essential weaving tools

No previous weaving experience is needed!

The kit will officially launch at the Churt Yuletide Bazaar Churt Yuletide Bazaar on Saturday 14th November, and I'll also be bringing it along to the Christmas Fair at Farnham Maltings on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th November.

Orders will be despatched from the week commencing 16th November.

I can't wait to share it with you and hopefully inspire a few more people to discover the wonderful world of weaving!

It's been a very busy week this week, with lots of students in the studio. We have so many different projects going on which is super exciting, as I can't wait to see how they all develop! It also saw the start of 'The Weavers Year'. A course designed to build confidence on the loom.

I have also managed to squeeze in some time at the loom for myself - my artwork piece is slowly coming together, but I'm in no rush! I'm enjoying the slowness and decision making in every pass of the thread. See the last pic to see how it looks so far...

Also thank you to Sarah The Knit Lounge | Independent Yarn Store for her patience - it's been lovely being the student on a course - the socks are progressing nicely!

A very busy week...let's see what next week brings!

September - a new start in the Studio
I do love the Autumn 🍂 The colours, the fresher feeling in the air and time for new projects!

And what a first week back! I know you all like to see what happens in the studio so here is the round up...
Let's see what next week brings!

Frame Loom Weaving Workshop
Finally, after months of waiting, the new Frame Looms have arrived and today was the first workshop where we got to put them to use!

I have been busy writing out patterns and putting together a collection of samples, where I show you how you can weave 'proper cloth' even on a small loom. I teach you how warp and weft work together and how patterns can be created with simple changes.

If you can't book into a workshop, the kit will be launching in September - perfect timing for a new Autumn project at home.

The seasons never cease to amaze me - I love how throughout the year, my view changes from the studio and new visitors come to the garden.

Today I saw the glorious Hummingbird Hawk Moth - it was just beautiful!
Taking a few minutes and sitting, resting with nature can bring you so much joy.

And another final piece has been cut from the loom!

Cath has been an absolute pleasure to have in the studio - I have totally admired her brave use of colour!

Cath's project was inspired by the weaver who creates beautiful scarves on her loom in Cornwall. Cath wanted to learn how to weave floats in a piece of woven cloth, achieving bold colour blocks.

I think you can see in Cath's face, just how proud she was cutting this from the loom.

Cannot wait to see it once it's been wet finished and the whole piece softens and fulls.

🍃 Floor Loom Course – Finished Piece 🍃

It’s been such a pleasure watching Maria bring this piece to life on one of our countermarch looms. She arrived with a clear vision—a woven bed runner—and precise measurements in hand, making it possible to create something beautifully tailored to her space.

Maria chose the design she wanted to weave and picked colours from the Sheepsoft wool range from Laxtons

Over the course, it’s been wonderful to see her confidence grow with every session. Each step—from dressing the loom to weaving—has clicked into place, with new understanding and connections forming along the way.

Congratulations, Maria. Enjoy your runner for years to come.

Hemstitching on the loom...

Serena completed her woven piece on one of the Countermarch looms in the studio today. There have been many hours of love poured into this piece.
It is always a very satisfying moment when the woven fabric is cut from the loom and the beautiful piece can be admired!

Congratulations Serena for your perseverance, commitment and enthusiasm for Weaving!

The gentle sounds of the loom.

I am currently teaching three students on the floor looms, each weaving different patterns and structures. They have each arrived with a specific project in mind, and together we have planned, dressed the looms, and now the weaving is underway.

Every loom has its own personality, and I love hearing every creak, click and movement as the cloth slowly grows.

Bookings are now full for this year's floor loom courses, but next year's dates are now available to book.

My view ✨

I feel so lucky that every day, when I look out from my studio, I see a different view. Each season brings something new — and right now, the hay field is growing, and the deer are returning, looking for a safe place to have their babies.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been listening to a bird making a call I hadn’t noticed before. I made it my mission to find out what it was, and after many missed attempts trying to record it on my bird app, I finally discovered it was a Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Although we’ve seen these many times before from our window, I learned that the call they’ve been making is an alarm or warning call, telling others to stay away from their babies. It’s lovely to know that, very close by, more woodpeckers will soon be flying the nest.

We’ve also had another frequent visitor over the last few weeks — only discovered after spotting several holes in the garden! That signalled the return of the badger.

I feel very lucky to have nature on my doorstep and to be able to share it with my students at the studio. 🤍
