Dolly had somewhere to be. 💕😂

So I took her out to Union Market.

One of my favorite things about creating these BoxBusts is seeing what happens when I take them out of my space and put them into the world. Suddenly the city becomes part of the art.

We found butterflies.
We found pink walls.
We found vintage Dolly.
And somehow we even found a WHY NOT NOW sign. 👀

Apparently Dolly and I were exactly where we were supposed to be. 😂🌸🦋

Art doesn’t always belong on a wall. Sometimes you have to take it outside and let it live a little.

Epoxy is officially down on the first three pieces in my Statement Collection.

YOU CAN.
LET GO.
WHY NOT.

I wanted these pieces to be simple in what they say, but still have texture, depth and presence. And BABY…that epoxy did exactly what I needed it to do. 🥹

These are the first three of nine—but right now, I’m just going to enjoy the fact that THESE THREE ARE FINISHED. 🙌🏾

Well…hanging hardware. 😂🤓 But creatively? DONE.

Another amazing showing of art and life at tabernacle_whitebox. 🎨✨

This time featuring the work and expression of Samantha Juan in UNBOUND.

The color and energy in Sam’s work can’t be denied. I was immediately drawn in by the bold colors, movement and expressive strokes that somehow come together to form these beautiful, vibrant flowers. 🌺

One of my favorite things about being part of an arts community is getting to experience how differently we all see—and then getting to see what somebody else does with that vision.

Sometimes I make art.

Sometimes I go listen to people who make art with WORDS. 🎤🔥

Caught Rome Streetz at Songbyrd DC and this was absolutely my kind of night.

I love REAL rap. Bars. Storytelling. Wordplay. Grit. The kind of hip-hop where you actually have to LISTEN to what somebody is saying. 🤓

And anybody who knows me knows I’ve got love for that Griselda sound. 🦂

Good music. Small venue. Real hip-hop.

Just know that this box started it all. Period. I’ve been creative all my life but this Box is the reason some of you guys are even familiar with me 🥴. Shoutout to Dre for being a friend, a little/big brother, a boss and an inspiration in this life 🤓🫶🏾.

There will eventually be 9 pieces in the full Statement Collection, but listen…we’re working THREE at a time around here. 😂🥴

Honestly, these have been such a nice creative break for me. They’re bold, simple, meaningful—and a completely different process from building my BoxArt.

So for now, I’m gonna finish these three while I wait for my Spike Lee supplies to arrive. 🤓🎨🫶🏾

One project at a time.
