Hi all. You may think I had given up on my sewing because of a prolonged, very prolonged absence from my Nana J site. Well nothing could be more wrong. I have been working but also sewing like a demon. I’ve tried my hand at some cute Christmas outfits and made a quizillion purses, pencil cases and various other things.
I’ll put some photos up and if anyone would like to purchase them I would be SEW happy.
I should tell you that if you don’t like ironing these dresses may need some pressing after washing. I try to use cotton or poly cottons because synthetics are too hot and shed tiny fibres that are harmful.
Hope you like these designs. I might follow up with some other stuff later.

I’ve been unable to get into my sewing room because I’ve had relatives staying over Christmas. I took a deep breath today and went back in to my fortress of solitude. Found some sets of library bags and pencil cases I had made. The first is made from Lightening Bolt fabric the second from Ben 10 themed fabric. Both pencil cases are fully lined. I’m asking $10 for each set. Let me know if your interested. Can’t wait to get back to the machine.

Well I’ve been a bit quiet because I’ve been working fairly regularly in my teaching job. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing. My therapy 😊.
Trying something new I thought about the enthusiasm (by choice or necessity) about the need for reusable shopping bags. I see lots of people carrying large bags but have come up with a compact version. The pictures show a range of ideas which I’m selling for $10. I thought they would make nice gifts or to put away for Christmas.
If not I’d appreciate feedback on the potential future of the idea. I have loved playing around with my resources and fabric stash which is getting a bit ridiculous. Some of them don’t have bags but could be a nice gift filled with stuff! Or as pencil cases. These ones are cheaper because they’re empty.

I’ve had quite a break from sewing lately tripping down the coast visiting friends and relatives. Especially glad I caught up with my father.
I changed focus from clothes to indulge in my love of appliqué. The photos show some library bags I’ve been working on with animal themes. I love using up my bits and pieces like the photo holder on the dogs collar. Also I like playing with the animals tails, hair and manes with plaits, beads and tassels.

I pleased to say I'll be having a stall at the Label Traders Markets on Sunday 20th May. These are at Mundingburra state school from 8-12. There are lots of friendly people on other stalls who I met last time I was at these markets. Hope to see you there to see my latest creations👗

I’ve had a busy week sewing these three little beauties. I was trying a new pattern and I really love the way they turned out. All sewn to a size 3 with contrasting shoulder straps and ruffles. They also feature a cute bow which ties from the shoulder straps. Let me know if anyone is interested in them. I love creating but am tickled pink when I see them on the littlies.

Well I’m back at the machine after a lovely break at beautiful Golden Beach in Caloundra. This one of a kind cutie was made from fabric I had left after cutting up a maxi dress for one of my classic dresses. So much fabric to play with in those long maxis and beautiful prints.designed for a two year old it comprises a top shorts and headband. I love the lift the daisy trim and white contrast add. I think with the work involved and the uniqueness of the outfit it’s worth $20.

Well I’m pleased with the two little Easter dresses I was able to make out of just over 1 metre of fabric. Nice quality and super cute fabric that can be worn after Easter too. Also managed to make headbands to match.

I’ve just finished this cute as a button Easter dress. The pattern was a new one which I enjoyed trying a challenge. The good thing is this one can be worn after Easter too. It was made to order for a 3 year old little one.
