A quick update regarding the Grand River Health pop-up:
I’ve had several questions about what happened with my recent pop-up at Grand River, and because other vendor events have continued there, I wanted to clarify something important.
I was invited to join in the pop-up and received approval from the appropriate person at Grand River Health before attending. I arrived that morning, set up as planned, and had been open for approximately 30 minutes when we were unexpectedly asked to pack up and leave.
At the time, I was not given an explanation for the decision, and I am still working to understand exactly what happened. Because I don’t have the full story, I don’t want to speculate or speak beyond what I know.
What I do want to make clear is that White Dove Marketplace does not attend any event without permission, disregard policy, or knowingly do anything outside of the established process. In this instance, I had specifically asked for approval beforehand and received it.
I’m disappointed by how the situation was handled, particularly because these pop-ups have been an opportunity for local small businesses to connect with our community while also supporting the Volunteer Services Scholarship Program through a portion of our sales.
I value the people who support this little business tremendously, and I felt you deserved some clarification rather than being left to wonder what happened. I’ll continue showing up for this community, supporting other small businesses and organizations, and finding new places for us to connect. ❤️
