Hand-made. Hand-printed. Kayti Fan Designs (KFD) is a fresh, new textile and surface design brand founded by Washington-DC based artist and designer, Kayti Fan. We specialize in unique, hand-made prints for a variety of products. Currently, we offer a selection of home, lifestyle, and fashion accessories including: tote bags, pillows, drapes, and greeting cards. We are also working to expand our o
fferings to include scarves, tableware, and rugs. Our Mission Statement:
KFD seeks to combine art and function by providing unique prints, that can stand alone as art, for a multitude of functional and beautifully hand-made products. A Note from Kayti:
I have always found ways to occupy myself with creative hobbies, and drawing and painting came naturally to me. In 2013, after seven years of working in non-creative industries, I allowed my artistic juices to flow again and began an intense period of experimentation with many different mediums and techniques. It was this period of experimentation that inspired a series of unique textile designs, and the period during which KFD was born. My newfound interest in textile design is due in large part to my early love of fashion, which has long been an avenue for my individual creative expression. After discovering textile design, everything changed. I could think of no better way to affect fashion than through textile design. I am currently a graduate student at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD earning my Master’s in Professional Studies (MPS) in the Business of Art and Design. This program is catered to creative entrepreneurs and will provide me with a solid business foundation (and the credentials, to boot!) to expand and grow KFD.
