Claystone on sliding cabinet doors, in low sun. Light from the window crosses the surface, and the small marks, grain, and variation come forward.
Almost monochrome and quiet at one hour, warm and full of depth the next. Clay, minerals, and natural pigments, doing what they do over a day.

When light becomes part of the material.
Claystone reveals its character as the day moves … subtle marks, shifts in texture and variations that appear and disappear with the light. Quiet and almost monochrome in one moment, warmer, more tactile and full of depth in the next.

MonoSoft in Duvet on the partition wall, De Pinte.

Simon de Burbure built a walnut shelving wall into the room, warm wood against a quiet plaster backdrop. MonoSoft wraps the partition, matte and even, letting the walnut and the ceiling slats carry the warmth instead. Books, small objects, low light. The wall does its work by staying out of the way.

MonoSoft on walls and door, De Pinte.

Simon de Burbure kept the plan honest and let the surfaces carry the quiet. The door disappears into the wall, same plaster, same plane, no frame to mark where one stops and the other begins. MonoSoft in Duvet holds both, warm and matte in low light. Nothing here asks for attention. It just holds the room together.

A 1960s house in De Pinte, its structure largely untouched. Simon de Burbure worked instead with texture - warm materials, soft light, original details left in place. Our MonoSoft plaster holds the walls, carrying the same warmth into the surfaces around it. The house doesn’t announce itself. It just sits well in its own decade.

Some spaces are remembered as much for their atmosphere as for what they serve.
At Pénar, a restaurant and natural w**e cellar in Ixelles, Wonderstone in color Salt shapes floors and walls with a soft mineral presence. Made from clay and minerals, the plaster brings subtle depth and quiet texture, allowing light, furniture, and everyday life to define the space.

Texture begins with the hand.
Lime, clay, minerals. The same natural composition can be shaped into surfaces that range from quiet and matte to deeply textured. Every finish carries the mark of its application, making each wall slightly different from the next.
Variation is part of the material. That’s where its character comes from.

Light reveals what texture already knows.
A mineral surface changes quietly throughout the day. Morning light softens it. Evening gives it depth. The finish remains the same, yet never looks quite identical.

Jacquemus, Zurich. The curved shelving disappears into itself, then holds the room’s real subject: the bags, lit from within the material rather than against it. Claystone across the counter and displays, in a custom mineral finish - matte enough to let color do the talking.

Jacquemus, Zurich. The Swiss boutique carries the same material language as the brand’s other spaces - Claystone, in a custom mineral finish. The surface holds the light the way raw stone does: unevenly and honestly.
