The Purifier's Hand

Dear Allah, You give, and then You take, You bless again, and again You break.

I never could discern the grace concealed, The hidden good Your wisdom had revealed.

I wept, I wailed, I cried my frantic plea, I laughed in anguish at my misery.

I did not know the venom You withdrew, I did not see the soul You purified anew.

Dear Allah, take away my grasping hand, Still every selfish impulse in the land Of my own heart; my nafs no longer bind.

Bestow Your will on me, and peace I find. I seek no blessing save Your will alone.

What Is Life?

What is life? Is it the oblivion I inhabit every day?

What is life? Is it the facade we wear to face the day?

What is life? Is it the sharp hurt we're gifted, day after day?

What is life? Is it the inhumane atrocities our eyes are forced to see?

And sadly, life is certainly not justice.

And sadly, life is certainly not faith.

And sadly, life is certainly not hope.

In whispers soft, a balm descends,
On wounded hearts, where sorrow bends.
A gentle touch, a light so pure,
Healing's grace, forever to endure.

Through shadowed valleys, hope takes flight,
Mending spirits, day and night.
Each fragile piece, made whole anew,
In healing's embrace, strength shines through.

The air is thick with a sorrow unspoken,
A heavy cloak by the world unseen.
You walk the hours with a spirit broken,
Across a landscape that was once green.

The heart is a library of silent echoes,
Of words that wounded and battles unfought,
A fragile ship where the pain-wind blows,
Against the wreckage that memory brought.

Each morning brings the same stone to carry,
A constant pressure that bends the frame,
You only wish for a place to tarry,
To shed the burden of a burning shame, or nameless ache.

But even the darkest, longest night, Must yield its passage to the slow, sure dawn.
The pain you hold is a desperate light,
A testament to what you’ve bravely drawn.

May you find the crack where the sun can enter,
To warm the coldness that lives in your breast, And may your soul reach its quiet center,
To finally anchor, and finally rest.

A broken mirror, shattered and askew,
A reflection of a self I thought I knew.
A whispered promise, a hand in mine,
A sacred trust, a love divine.

But in the shadows, a hidden blade,
A tapestry of lies, so carefully made.
The sweet facade, a clever guise,
Concealing daggers in your eyes.

A bitter pill, a poison art,
That seeps and spreads throughout the heart.
The wound you left, it won't be healed,
A sacred garden, now revealed.

And I, the fool, who stood so near,
Dismissed the doubt, ignored the fear.
For what is love, if not to see
The face of trust, in you and me?

Now only silence fills the space,
Where echoes of your false embrace
Still linger, cold, a ghostly touch,
A painful memory I held too much.

From the long shadow of what's been done,

A broken vessel, beneath a setting sun.

The silent weight of a tangled past,

A silent sorrow, built to last.

But from the cracks, a fragile light,

A silver thread in the darkest night.

It mends the fragments, one by one,

A quiet healing, a new life begun.

It isn't forgetting, it's letting go,

Watching the rivers of mercy flow.

The burden lifted, the spirit free,

A final grace for you and me.
