Vanitas Designs Original oil paintings Hi! I endeavour to retain the integrity of an item and only upcycle if the piece is no longer functional or appealing as is.

My name is Karen and I am a visual artist who paints in oils and my current subject matter echoes the old Vanitas theme..the transience and impermanence of life...the inevitable passage of time! Like most artists, I love to collect and when I am not painting, I spend a lot of time in my studio deliberating over what to "do" with my reclaimed pieces, or if I will make any changes at all.
