Fall planting a few Anemones & ranunculus under low tunnels… these will go in 1020 trays after they are nice a plump and root for a few weeks. Then I’ll plant them out under the tunnels and they will hang out until spring hopefully giving LOTS more than I had last year. I plan on using come hot pepper spray to prevent squirrels and bunnies from munching on them this year. 🐿️🐰

Would you look who FINALLY showed up to the party…. I had high hopes for these heirloom mums this year. I bought quite a few pricey plugs thinking they would be great for September bouquets. 😕 Guess who isn’t on my crop list for 2027. 🫣

Enjoying the last of my dahlias in this big bouquet for the season. I started to cut some down & dig up some tubers this week. I figured I better get a head start since it takes a lot of time to label, dig and divide them all for storage in my cooler all winter. 💕

Low tunnels are up… Not completely convinced I’ll have frost but at least my seedlings will have protection JUST in case. They will stay snuggled under there for the most part until next spring. I’ll add greenhouse plastic when it starts getting colder during the day.

What’s going on at the farm? Fall planting!! Today I tried something new using biodegradable paper from Johnnys for w**d guard to plant in. The jury is out until next summer on whether or not it will help but I’m giving it a try, because w**ds are the bane of my existence. 🤣

Today over 500 seedlings were planted out… Bells of Ireland, poppies, snapdragons, nigella, orlaya, prairie sun rudbeckia, delphinium, feverfew, sweet William & foxglove. All in this new row that will get covered this winter with a low tunnel for spring blooms! The dahlias are winding down and soon will be pulled and the tubers saved. 2000 Tulips will be here in another month so those will be planted this fall as well. Summer may be over but there is still a lot of work to be done. 😉 I still have some mini dried flower pumpkins if anyone is interested. Send me a message!
