The Modern Bibik Private dining, catering and rempahs - marrying old-school flavours with new-age culinary sensibilities - it's modern Peranakan food with a cheeky twist.

Ange Neo is The Modern Bibik - wordsmith, critic, and now menu designer and cook. Though I've gone from fashion and beauty to food and beverage, the two genres aren't as unlikely or remote as it seems. Food, very much like fashion, is very telling of history and culture; and is reflective of our environment and times. It brings people together and just as easily divides them into different camps.

I take the same approach to food as I do style. Food not only has to look - or in this case, taste - delicious, it also needs to keep the body well and nourished (that's the basic function of a meal!). More importantly, we need to be able to fit in a good meal despite our ever busy and harried lifestyles. The Modern Bibik culinary experience aims to do all of that. I want to feed you good food that engages your pleasure senses and satiate your taste buds. Share dishes that offer familiar comfort and invoke the nostalgia of grandma's home-cooking, yet they still have cheeky little surprises and twists along the way to keep you wanting and anticipating more. Look out for The Modern Bibik guest-chef restaurant collaborations, but I am also available to cater private dinners and conduct culinary workshops. Feel free to send in enquiries for either.
