I’ve always loved to doodle; it was the only way I could concentrate in school!
In 2015 I was broke and desperate. I read a book about getting out of the ‘rat-race’ and it told me to find something I loved and make it work. So (pretty much overnight) I designed 5 Christmas cards, and sang in Nursing Homes at weekends to earn the money to get them printed! I made 100 cards, advertised them on Facebook and sold 400 in 2 weeks.
I couldn’t believe I had sold that many cards. I jumped straight into designing more: Thank You Cards in January, Valentines in February, Mothers Day in March...etc! I got to the point where I didn’t want to just make cards. It was then that I had the idea to engrave my doodles! I made wooden and acrylic coasters, keyrings, bookmarks, hanging hearts...etc!
13 Craft Fairs later and due to the high-cost of living in the South, I decided to move to Yorkshire in 2017. I still worked full-time for the council, and did another 11 Craft Fairs on the side. I then happened to meet a local business investor at my church who agreed to join Meghan Earle Designs. This has allowed me to go from a part-time hobby to a full time business, and in January 2018 Meghan Earle Designs was launched!
