Introducing our new series: Studio Rewind! We will be revisiting the projects that have shaped Jakupa’s legacy in the built environment.
With the 2026 World Cup approaching, we are reminiscing on the stadium that first brought the global stage to our own backyard: Cape Town Stadium - an iconic landmark that continues to define the city’s skyline; where architecture, engineering, and urban planning meet the Cape Town coastline🌊
In collaboration with Henri Comrie, Jakupa’s urban design scope was instrumental in shaping the precinct, including key inputs into the stadium, the elevated circle and pedestrian concourse, the NMT network relating to the precinct, and the Green Point Urban Park and Golf Course.
Following this, the architectural scope was successfully delivered in collaboration with Paragon Architects, Louis Karol Architects, Munnik Visser Architects, Henri Comrie, and GMP as the lead design architects.
