I managed to capture this African Openbill stork during our trip to Kruger late last year. That unique gap in its bill isn't a deformity, it’s a highly specialised nutcracker perfectly evolved for extracting freshwater snails and mussels from their shells.

Spotted this beautiful Bennet’s Woodpecker at Berg and Dal in the Kruger National Park despite some pretty challenging weather and low light! With the ISO pushed up to 12800 and a shutter speed of 1/250, I wasn’t sure how the shot would turn out. Amazing what a bit of post processing can do to clean up and bring out the best in a photo. Nature always finds a way to shine through!
