One of the questions we get asked most is how Kiaat changes once it’s finished.

These photos compare raw, unsealed, sanded Face-Grain Kiaat with Face-Grain Kiaat sealed using Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C Pure.

While these are different pieces of timber, they clearly show what you can expect:

For this project, we made a solid face-grain Kiaat countertop with a waterfall end, allowing the grain to flow from the work surface down the side panel. The result is a clean, modern kitchen softened by the warmth and character of real hardwood.

For this project we crafted and installed Rubberwood countertops and built a custom kitchen island, paired with solid pine shelving in the scullery to create a practical space that still feels warm and inviting.

It offers a tight grain, excellent stability, and a warm natural colour that works beautifully with modern cabinetry.

For this project in Vlees Bay, we crafted custom Yellowwood countertops and built-in cupboards designed to complement the exposed beams and clean architectural lines of the space.

The goal was simple:
Create a warm, natural interior that feels grounded in the surrounding landscape.

Every surface was carefully selected, joined, and finished to highlight the unique grain, colour variation, and character that only real wood can offer.
