I recently had the joy of attending a Wild Light Photography retreat in Kenton-on-Sea, hosted by the wonderful and .

What unfolded over those few days was so much more than a photography retreat. It was a space to slow down, reflect, create, and connect. I felt deeply fortunate to share the experience with seven inspiring women, each bringing their own stories, wisdom, and unique perspectives.

We were nourished in every sense of the word—through meaningful conversation, time in nature, and Samantha’s endlessly beautiful and delicious meals, each one prepared with such care and generosity.

I left feeling refreshed, encouraged, and quietly transformed. The conversations, laughter, moments of stillness, and shared inspiration are gifts I will carry with me for a long time to come.

A truly special experience, and one for which I am deeply grateful.

New painting in my studio, it is part of a series so nice to have it hanging around with me for a while! I am working on a set of ten paintings based on a place in the Eastern Cape that I connect with. More information to follow over time.

“Surrendering to the Space”
Acrylic on Dutch Linen Canvas
100 x 100 cm
For Sale

This is one of a new group of paintings, based on travel and continuous enquiries into relationships—with place, people, myself.
They are informed by journeys to Cape Point and the Kruger Park,
where I photograph and sketch what I am instinctively drawn to.
These observations are then enlarged or cropped, simplified, and
reworked in the studio as a way of analysing emotion and listening
for what the landscape echoes back.
I chose acrylic paint for its adaptability and responsiveness. The
dynamic pace of the medium allows for quick shifts and
adjustments, mirroring the constant changes of daily life. Through
this process, I am searching for moments of calm within
movement—pausing to reflect amid flux.
The series is an ongoing search for what matters most: an
exploration of colour, space, and rhythm, allowing the work to
breathe while holding traces of memory, feeling, and place.

The first painting from a new series, shaped by a period of exploration and experimentation, and by consciously letting go of some long-held landscape biases. New and exciting work to follow over the next few months!

“The Days They Break To Fade”

Acrylic on Linen Duck Canvas
100 x 100cm
For Sale

The Kruger with my daughters 2025.

This painting unfolds like a memory dissolving and reforming – an abstract landscape built from soft hues. The brushstrokes are loose and layered as if capturing moments in transition, beginnings, endings and the quiet in-between spaces.

Nothing is fixed everything is shifting. The painting holds the fragile moment when a day begins to fall apart into dusk – when colours feel both illuminated and slipping away.

It embodies the sense of time passing, breaking open only to fade into something quieter, softer and more profoundly human.

“We’re in this together”
100 x 100 mm
Acrylic on linen canvas
Not for sale

A new painting inspired by the rugged windswept terrain of Cape Point, a place layered with inspiration. Loose brushstrokes of coral, sage, umber and deep earth tones echo the wild fynbos, shifting light and timeless rock formations.
Painted in memory of my Mom, the piece carries both the quiet strength of the landscape and the tenderness of remembrance ❤️
