Wow, what a wonderful article to share. I’m so thrilled to see the Great African Seaforest receiving this kind of global recognition in TIME Magazine. It is incredibly encouraging to witness such positive attention being given to our magnificent South African kelp forests and to all the people working so passionately to understand, celebrate and protect them. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend taking a look.
Thank you to everyone who tagged me, messaged me and shared the incredible TIME Magazine cover story on the Great African Seaforest.
While I am honoured to be part of the growing community of ocean storytellers, the real accolades belong to the visionaries, scientists, trackers, photographers and conservationists leading this work, including Helen Walne, Craig Foster, Tatjana Baleta, the 1001 Seaforest Species Project team, Save Our Seas Foundation and many others working tirelessly behind the scenes.
I am simply a fellow ocean enthusiast who shares my little Kelp Forest Prayer Room with the world in the hope of inspiring connection and appreciation for our extraordinary ocean. Just to clarify, while I am happy to share and celebrate these images and stories, the TIME Magazine cover photograph and other published photographs are not my photographs and I do not wish to be credited as the photographer.
Every photograph, every story and every conversation helps people see what lies beneath the surface. And when people truly see something, they are far more likely to protect it.
The ripple continues. 🌊💙
