I will be posting a few “Visual Manifestos” (kind of self-portraits). These large, hefty oil pieces are done primarily with a palette knife, with some realistic brushwork for details.
This is Nr 2.
A TOAST TO INTEGRITY !?
A sea of black jackets, all looking away,
I sit at the counter with nothing to say.
Like the bourbon I hold, my intent in the glass
It is pure and unfiltered, untouched by the mass.
Integrity demands a solitary track;
With bu****it, you lose me—I do not look back.
I prefer my own company, stubborn and free,
To a world that forgot what its virtues should be.
So I toast the beholder, if any remain,
Who refuse to be swept up in modern disdain.
A toast to a stranger who still holds the power,
To stand with integrity in this dark hour.
