Not every office window needs blackout, but sometimes having the option to shut the outside world out completely is exactly what the space needs.
For this recent commercial installation in Al Forsan, Abu Dhabi, the internal offices had large glazed windows overlooking the surrounding area. The requirement was straightforward: improve privacy, reduce glare and help limit some of the solar heat entering the rooms.
We installed made-to-measure blackout roller blinds, specified in a dark grey that works particularly well with the existing office finishes.
When lowered, the blinds create a much more private working environment and significantly reduce incoming light and glare. When that control isn’t needed, they simply roll away to restore the view and natural daylight.
One thing worth remembering with commercial blinds is that the fabric is only part of the solution. Accurate measuring and correct positioning matter just as much, particularly when fitting multiple blinds side-by-side across larger glazing. The aim is a consistent, neatly aligned finish that looks like it belongs in the space.
A simple solution, but a practical one, and a good example of how the right roller blinds in Abu Dhabi can improve the day-to-day usability of a workplace without overcomplicating it.
