🔥 SERMON: LORD, DELIVER ME AND LET YOUR FACE SHINE UPON ME

📖 Text: Psalm 119:134–135 (KJV)

“Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.”

1. Lord, Deliver Me from Oppression

Life sometimes exposes us to injustice, mistreatment, and the oppression of others. However, we must remember that God sees our afflictions and hears our cries. Instead of responding with hatred or revenge, let us trust God for deliverance and wisdom.

Exodus 3:7: God saw the affliction of His people and heard their cries.

2. Lord, Let Your Face Shine Upon Me

God's shining face represents His favor, mercy, and presence. We need more than human approval; we need God's presence guiding us through every season of life.

Numbers 6:25 (KJV): “The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.”

3. Lord, Teach Me Your Statutes

The psalmist did not ask only for deliverance and favor; he also desired God's instruction. We must not seek God's blessings while neglecting His Word. True spiritual growth comes when we learn His Word and obey it.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV): “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

POWERFUL THOUGHT

“Lord, deliver me from the oppression of men, surround me with Your favor, and teach me to walk according to Your Word.”

🙏 CLOSING PRAYER

Heavenly Father, deliver me from every form of oppression, let Your face shine upon me, and teach me Your ways. Grant me the wisdom to overcome challenges without hatred and the grace to remain obedient to Your Word. Let Your favor and presence guide my life, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen!

ORDER MY STEPS, O LORD

Psalm 119:132–133 (KJV)

> “Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”

This is more than a prayer for direction—it is a prayer for divine control.

David understood that it is possible to have plans, desires, opportunities, and ambitions, yet still walk in the wrong direction. That is why he did not simply say, “Lord, show me the way.” He said, “Order my steps in thy word.”

When God orders your steps:

He leads you away from what will destroy you.

He directs you toward what He has prepared for you.

His Word becomes the standard for your decisions.

Sin loses its authority over your life.

Your steps begin to agree with His purpose.

Notice the connection: “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”

The Word of God doesn't only tell us where to go; it also tells us what must not control us.

You can pray:

“Lord, order my steps. When I am about to make the wrong decision, redirect me. When my flesh wants to lead me, let Your Spirit lead me. Let Your Word govern my choices, my relationships, my words, and my actions. And let no sin have dominion over me.”

Powerful Thought

“When God orders your steps, His Word becomes your compass, His Spirit becomes your guide, and sin loses its dominion over your life.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Look upon me and have mercy upon me according to Your lovingkindness. Order my steps in Your Word. Let me not walk according to my own understanding, but let Your Spirit lead me in the path of righteousness.

Every wrong influence, wrong desire, wrong relationship, and every power of iniquity seeking to have dominion over my life, let it be broken in the name of Jesus.

Give me grace to obey Your Word, wisdom to recognize Your direction, and courage to follow You even when Your way is different from mine.

Lord, order my steps, establish my path, and keep my feet from falling. Let my life bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

THE POWER OF AGREEMENT IN PRAYER

Matthew 18:19–20 (KJV)

> “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Jesus reveals something powerful here: there is power in agreement.

Agreement in prayer is not merely two people saying the same words. It is two or more hearts coming into unity concerning God’s will and trusting Him together.

1. Agreement attracts divine intervention

Jesus said, “If two of you shall agree…” There is something powerful that happens when believers stand together in faith.

One person may be weak, but when believers unite their faith, they can strengthen one another.

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (KJV):

> “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”

2. Agreement must be in faith

Agreement does not mean simply agreeing emotionally. We must agree according to God's Word and God's will.

1 John 5:14 (KJV):

> “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”

When God's Word becomes the foundation of our agreement, we can pray with confidence.

3. Unity creates an atmosphere for God's presence

Jesus said:

> “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

What a promise!

We are not gathering merely to have a meeting. We are gathering because Jesus is present.

When believers gather in His name, He is in the midst of them. When we pray together, worship together, and seek Him together, we are acknowledging His presence among us.

4. Don't underestimate the power of two

Sometimes we think, “We are too few.”

But Jesus said two or three.

You don't need a stadium full of people before God can move. Two people who genuinely agree in faith can become a powerful prayer force.

A husband and wife can agree. Two friends can agree. A small prayer group can agree. Two believers can stand together and cry unto God.

The size of the gathering does not limit the power of God.

Powerful Thought

When believers agree in faith, they create a spiritual atmosphere where prayer becomes a united cry before God.

Don't fight the person you are supposed to pray with. Don't allow offense, bitterness, jealousy, or division to destroy your agreement.

The enemy understands the power of unity—which is why he often attacks relationships.

Jesus prayed for the unity of His followers:

John 17:21 (KJV):

> “That they all may be one…”

Conclusion

There is power when we pray alone, but there is also a special power when believers come together in genuine agreement.

Find someone who can believe God with you. Pray together. Stand together. Agree together. And above all, make sure your agreement is rooted in God's Word and submitted to His will.

Because where there is godly agreement, there is strength; and where believers gather in His name, Jesus promises to be in their midst.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the power of prayer and the blessing of fellowship with other believers. Help us to walk in unity, love, and genuine agreement according to Your Word.

Remove every spirit of division, offense, bitterness, and misunderstanding from among us. Teach us to pray together, believe together, and stand together in faith.

Lord, let our agreement be according to Your perfect will. As we gather in Your name, manifest Your presence in our midst. Answer our prayers, strengthen our faith, and let our lives become a testimony of Your power.

In Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen.

: CHOSEN BY CHRIST, NOT APPROVED BY THE WORLD

Main Text: John 15:18–19 (KJV)

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”

Introduction

As believers, we must understand that following Jesus does not mean everyone will love us, accept us, or agree with our values. Sometimes, standing for the truth will make us unpopular. Living a holy life may attract criticism, rejection, and misunderstanding.

Jesus prepared His disciples for this reality. He wanted them to know that the world's rejection does not mean they have failed; sometimes, it is evidence that they are standing for His truth.

1\. The World Rejected Jesus First

Jesus said, “It hated me before it hated you.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ was loving, compassionate, and truthful, yet He was rejected by many. If the world rejected the perfect Son of God, we should not be surprised when people reject us for following Him.

Lesson: Do not abandon your faith simply because people misunderstand or reject you. Follow Christ faithfully, even when the path is difficult.

2\. You Are Called to Be Different

Jesus said, “Ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”

As Christians, we live in the world, but we must not allow the world's sinful values to control our lives. We are called to walk in holiness, speak the truth, love our enemies, forgive those who offend us, and remain faithful to God.

You cannot follow Christ wholeheartedly while constantly seeking the approval of people who oppose His teachings.

Lesson: Do not change your godly character just to fit into a worldly environment. Remember who called you and whose you are.

3\. Do Not Confuse Rejection With Defeat

Being rejected does not mean God has rejected you. People may misunderstand your convictions, laugh at your faith, or criticize your commitment to Christ, but their opinions do not determine your identity in God.

However, we must also examine our own attitudes. We should not use this Scripture to justify pride, unkindness, or bad behaviour. We are called to stand for the truth while showing Christ's love to everyone.

Lesson: Stand firm in your faith, remain humble in your heart, and let your life reflect the character of Jesus.

Conclusion

Beloved, you were not chosen by Christ to live for the applause of the world. You were chosen to glorify God through your life.

When people reject you because you stand for Christ, do not lose heart. Keep praying, keep loving, keep serving, and keep walking in truth.

Powerful Quote: “Never abandon your identity in Christ just to gain acceptance from a world that rejected Him first.”

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, give me the courage to stand for You even when I face rejection. Help me not to compromise my faith for the approval of people. Fill my heart with love, humility, and strength to remain faithful to Your Word. Let my life reflect Jesus Christ in everything I do. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

God has chosen you. Stand firm, walk in truth, and never be ashamed of Christ.

: THE GREATEST LOVE

Main Text: John 15:13 (KJV)

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

# # # Introduction

Love is more than words; true love is demonstrated through sacrifice. In John 15:13, Jesus reveals the highest expression of love: being willing to lay down one's life for others. This scripture points us to the greatest demonstration of love ever shown—the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for our salvation.

# # # 1\. Love Is More Than Words

Many people say, “I love you,” but genuine love is revealed through actions. True love is patient, kind, forgiving, and willing to serve others.

1 John 3:18 (KJV): “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

Let your love be seen in how you treat people, how you forgive, and how you help those in need.

# # # 2\. True Love Requires Sacrifice

Jesus did not merely tell us that He loved us; He gave His life for us. The cross is the ultimate demonstration of sacrificial love.

Sometimes love requires us to sacrifice our time, comfort, resources, and personal interests for the good of others. As believers, we are called to reflect the heart of Christ.

# # # 3\. Jesus Is the Greatest Example of Love

Jesus laid down His life even though we were sinners. His sacrifice opened the way for us to receive forgiveness and eternal life.

Romans 5:8 (KJV): “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Never doubt God's love for you. The cross is a reminder that His love is real, powerful, and sacrificial.

# # # Conclusion

Beloved, the world does not need more people who simply talk about love; it needs people who demonstrate love through their actions. Let the love of Christ be seen in your family, your church, your friendships, and your daily life.

Remember, the true measure of love is not what you say you are willing to give, but what you demonstrate through sacrifice.

# # # Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for demonstrating Your unfailing love through Jesus Christ. Teach me to love sincerely, forgive freely, serve humbly, and sacrifice willingly for the good of others. Let the love of Christ shine through my life and draw others closer to You. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

If there’s a problem in your life that is holding you back from living in God’s joy, you have to receive what God spoke through the prophet Isaiah: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18–19). God is saying, “Do you recognize the new thing I’m doing in your life? Don’t wait to have faith until the problem takes care of itself, because I’m doing something new right now. Look for it! Watch and see what I will do. It is a new thing.”

THE BATTLE IS SPIRITUAL

Text: Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

> “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Every believer must understand that not every battle is visible. Sometimes what we see as conflict with people is rooted in a deeper spiritual struggle. Paul reminds us that our ultimate enemy is not flesh and blood.

This means we must be careful not to fight the wrong person. People may be involved, but the real battle is spiritual. Therefore, we need spiritual weapons—prayer, faith, the Word of God, righteousness, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

When the battle becomes intense, do not abandon your faith. Stand firm in Christ. The enemy wants to create fear, confusion, division, and discouragement, but God has given His children everything necessary to stand.

Key Message

“Stop fighting people and start fighting the battle on your knees. What cannot be defeated by human strength can be overcome through spiritual authority in Christ.”

Prayer:
Lord, open my spiritual understanding. Help me recognize the battles that are beyond what my eyes can see. Strengthen me to stand firm in faith, prayer, and Your Word. Give me victory through Jesus Christ. Amen.
