• you will likely see that:
- nothing really matches
- the texture i bang on about is really what i live with
- art is my love language
- the house actually belongs to the dogs
- nothing is finished, nor in futility
- idgaf about mixing woods and metals
- everything is precious to me, yet not
- mood and feeling are the only markers of success
- yes, i will be adding the most stunning sheer panels

• the guest bedroom is also an additional work space. when 'unstyled' the monitor returns to it's corner on the desk for those multi screen sessions and samples and catalogues litter the surface just as beautifully as this vignette

• i'm obsessed with olive green so of course i colour drenched the room (and the master) to create the most inviting cocoon of calm. this colour brings me so much joy, and that is the only point required!

• layered within are warm woods, eclectic fabrics full of pattern and character, the leather headboard, a glass desk. there are several blue accents to be found on the marble side table tops and artworks. collected artifacts, gifts from friends, a few good books... a natural curation not a planned staging.

• villa four is a petite two bed townhouse ripe for renovation but this won't be happening immediately
for now we live with the original bones whilst we hatch plans for a modest upgrade that befits the
style and value of the property

• future plans include upgrading the terrace doors, changing the flooring - tile vs. wood is still being debated. adding built-in cabinets over and around the bed because it's the best use of space. the ensuite bathroom will soon be undergoing a full refit and that I'll share in more detail when it kicks off

• Above all I want to challenge the perception of perfection! 100yr old marble floors on your inspiration board have weathered every imperfection to become the beauty you lust after... think that over!

• EID has always opted for truth in materiality, embraced the weathered and the timeworn nature of textures, purposefully sought out the cracks and crevices of life, because once broken it can finally just live freely. The anxiety of damage is gone, therefore now you can use it to it's full potential. That first stain on the sofa allows you to put your feet up and relax into it. That first scratch on the dining table is a memory engraved ready to be joined by many more.

• Now don't mistake this nonchalant approach to have any bearing on lesser expectations when it comes to sourcing and specifying. From our suppliers we look for pride in production, care for detail and consistent communication. Not perfection! No-one is perfect and life has thrown so many challenges of late that willingness and loyalty is more valuable. Supporting each other through the chaos is paramount. This means wholeheartedly understanding and accepting that mishaps and delays are all part of the process. It shouldn't condemn. That said we do give so many chances but will always cut ties if alignment is unattainable.

• We are ourselves in the process of renovating after having lived within our home for the last 14months and truly love our current space. With this series I want to somewhat remind people that first embracing what you have in order to understand your unique taste will give you a more authentic approach to your eventual renovation. Don't rush the process!

• Designers revealing their homes can be controversial and polarizing. We don't all have the luxury of living in the largest and most luxurious or most architecturally avant garde of properties to seduce clients with. Most of us live in relatively normal homes, shared with families that require real life livable spaces.

• I have hesitated for months in sharing this series of my own home from the fear of alienating future potential work by revealing my own style and sensibilities that may not resonate with the populous. But quite frankly we are currently living with missiles flying overhead and a new uncertainty of what is ahead.

• So IDGAF anymore!
Authenticity in interiors is my MO and therefore I must also be willing to share this. As it is, I only want to work with clients who have alternative visions for their interiors and perhaps this will entice them.

Is the type of client we are manifesting this year and forever more! To create authentic, arresting, ambitious and artful interiors requires a more kindred customer, with a lust for the unique, expressive, curious and immersive experience of Interior Design, to realise spaces of meaning and pleasure

This year we wish to strategically slow down the design process to allow for thoughtful curation of ideas, researched with intention befitting the incredible assemblage of craft and skill it takes to complete a timeless interior, and truly enter into an era of designing with feeling and finesse

This will mean becoming far more selective of the projects we sign on, but my journey into interiors has always been to fulfil my relentless creative nature and it's time to take ownership of the journey ahead

We are so fortunate to currently have a client portfolio whose common thread is their true creative spirit, fuelled with a variety of visions formed from family memories, travels, experiences, mindful living and soulful enrichment, rather than the Pinterest platform, and we are completely enchanted by this!

With that we are enthralled about a few very recently signed collaborations we have yet to share and some of our favourite current projects are yet to complete, so do continue to keep an eye out for our forthcoming posts!
